40 catches 500 plus yards 5 TD

To much talent to throw to him more than that.

Re: Hilton, gent needs to stay healthy now that he has a serious lady friend.

Re: Anderson, he may be small but he's fast, gets good separation, generally has good hands (with the exception of a few notable drops), and most importantly seems to have developed a trust relationship with Nuss.

Health permitting, I think both of these guys will have great seasons.

AA took a major step last year and will be solid. And from the way Hilton finished last year, our passing game should be dynamic.

AA was our best WR this year. His numbers next year will be better than they were this year. If he gets to 1k yards, he will be a 1st round selection.

For the "he's too short people" - Tank Dell, Xavier Worthy, Zay Flowers, Devonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle, Jayden Reed etc etc etc are all small WRs that get busy. There's a market for his skillset that can get him drafted really high.

Already took a nice leap last season. Maybe become a little more consistent.

If Nussmeier takes the step Jayden Daniels and Burrow took like everyone says he will
__________

Who is everyone? People should not expect him to be JD or JB. We should expect a very good season from him, but he needs all the new faces on the Oline to gel before we can expect a Heisman worthy season. We likely emphasis our stacked RB room this year. Passing attempts will likely be lower next season.

I'm not going to say a short guy cant be good, they obviously can, but lets keep in mind Anderson is LISTED at 5'8 on our roster and we often fib by an inch or so, he might only be closer to 5'7 in reality. Every single player you mentioned there measured up at least 5'8.5 in reality, actually some of those well in excess of that.

Worthy and Smith in particular are actually close to 6 foot, they arent "short" guys, but are "small" guys being extremely thin. Anderson is built almost like a RB at 5'7-5'8 185-190, dude is decently thick. Someone at roughly 6'0 170 might look small, and they are but they arent short. The difference in a true 5'8 and 6'0 is the same as 6'0 and 6'4...so very notable.

For Anderson to get drafted highly (meaning I'd say 1st/2nd round), he would probably need a ridiculous season AND blazing combine speed because that height will always be the main knock on him. A guy like Tyreek Hill is very short like Anderson (right at 5'8) but ran a sub 4.3 at the combine. That's what Anderson might need to do to go that high.

Personally even if Anderson gets even better next year I see him more as a mid-round talent, again with the height thing working against him the most and probably only being around a 4.4 type of runner (could be wrong there, but dont see him as a TRUE blazer). Dont get me wrong, 4.4 is still ridiculously quick, but these days the fastest guys run closer to 4.3 now which still just seems insane to me.

I expect him to have a fantastic season. But receivers his height are not usually high draft picks. I would expect a second or third round selection but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a very successful season or NFL career.

everyone is hyperbole for the majority.

A lot of talk of the Heisman, QB1 Nationally, and im seeing a lot of posts that assume he will take a 2nd year step because those two did. Shoot, a lot of posters wanted Nussmeier to play over Jayden Daniels.

Big step this year, will be a smaller step next year. He will continue to improve route running and timing with Nuss.

The difference between 5’8” and 6’0” is not the same as the difference between 6’0” and 6’4”……

The only similarity is the margin of error for the QB in the potential catch radius.

Football is a game of matchups and the reason someone being 6’2”+ is so desired is that you are now taller and longer than >90% of DBs and have a great advantage in 50/50 balls. Statistically once you are <5’9” you will be shorter than the majority of DBs so doesn’t really matter if you are 5’9’or 5’5” as long as you have weight to not get jammed or knocked off your route. You aren’t likely winning most 50/50 balls so as long as you can create separation and do something with the ball in your hands you’re golden.

As we have discussed , Anderson is decently built and gets separation. A couple inches between 5’7” or 5’9” will not hurt him.

Anderson has what you cannot buy he can make you miss , his speed is deceptive and he loves to go over the middle .

Not much. I think he already took his big step. His stats might be better, because the team is better, but he got open, caught the balls that were thrown to him, and otherwise made great plays.

With the transfer receivers we have coming in, if he is just as good as he was this past season. That will be all we need, we have some really good ones coming in.
