Buddy of mine went to the game and sat in the Alabama student section. Said he knew he’d get sh*t for being a LSU fan in there student section. But him and few other LSU people he was with were had drinks, nachos, and other stuff thrown at them the whole game. They were also spit on. Got so bad 10 plus cops supposedly showed up at halftime. They were offered a escort out of the game at the end. Sounds like Bama fans are soft entitled brats.

I have a colleague who is an ex Alabama baseball player. He had a fricking bottled chucked at his head in Tiger Stadium when LSU player Bama. Let's not throw stones in our glass house.

That said, people take this shite way too seriously.

Sitting in the opposing student section is just asking for trouble

I’m not doubting what they are accusing, but my wife and I had no trouble. In fact, many Bama fans were welcoming and thanked us for coming. I was actually very surprised by this.

Sounds exactly like an LSU student section to me.

I would've told him don't sit in their student section.

My son's a student at LSU. He went to Tuscaloosa to hang on campus and visit a friend. They didn't go to game but they watched at a restaurant and bar hopped afterward. He didn't get any shite.

Not bad at all, they were really nice actually. I sat in the Alabama section and rode on a gameday shuttle with all Alabama fans and no one did or said anything rude.

This. Sitting in an opposing student section is the dumbest fricking idea ever. They’re not usually good seats, you’re surrounded by extremely drunk 18-22 year olds, and you’re usually one of the only people with your colors on in the entire section. Why anyone would do that I have no idea

Some POS in one of their luxury boxes called my friends rapists for no apparent reason.

Actually, it was a great experience. Every Bama fan I met was first class. A lot of “great games” and “go beat Ohio State”. Honestly, I was shocked but the hospitality was off the charts. Good people out there.

Now if you sit in the student section you deserve whatever happens.

I was in a Bama section (not student) and it was totally fine. I think the explosive start for LSU killed a lot of the vibes. Even after the game, walking out of the stadium, people were nice enough. A group of Bama fans came up to me in the concessions area after and I thought, "oh shite here we go." One of the guys came up to me, reached out his hand to shake mine, and laughed, "Hey, for that game, you have to take a pic of us (his group)," and handed me his phone. I laughed and said of course.

Compared to the last few times I've been to Tuscaloosa, the campus was very quiet before the game and the trash talking was almost non-existent. After the game, lots of congrats, hope you enjoy your time in Tuscaloosa, we still hate y'all but you kicked our arse, etc. We didn't run into many issues.

I was in the lower bowl about two sections from the LSU section. Fans were perfectly nice, except for one jackass. Bama fans were complaining that we were faking injuries (once when we were on offense, lol). And LSU fan about 10 rows down turned around and said, “Real classy, guys.” A middle aged Bama jackass went berserk. He was about three rows below me, and fans around him had to talk him off the edge, The LSU baw was pulling faces at him as he melted down. It was funny as hell.

I sat in an Alabama section (non student section). The people were awesome. We had two LSU fans behind us and after the game the Alabama fans were wanting to take pictures with us. We even had Alabama fans trying to sell us their SEC Championship tickets walking down the stands. Overall, the experience was amazing.

Sat in the NEZ Upper near the Visitor section. I was surrounded by Bama fans. Everybody was civil but they were the most entitled bunch of titty babies you ever saw. Even to the point that Saban would have the refs fired for the Moss catch call. Every time an LSU player went down on the field they booed like it was a fake even when our offensive guys went down.

The best one though was Friday night. My daughter and I went to a small neighborhood bbq pub and it was packed so we had to wait for a table in the bar. While I am ordering a couple beers the old guy next to me who was very polite and friendly just bluntly asked "Bama or Auburn?" When I said LSU he just chortled like old guys do ( I am 60 BTW). He proceeded to tell me he played for the Bear back in 64 and several old stories that were completely meaningless to anyone else. He finally brought up the game and essentially just told me that Bama was going to mop the field with us even though he did not know anything about us (total condesending attitude now). He asked "are you guys any good this year?"

This was a funny time in the stadium. When they booed Deculus for going down and then eventually jogging off, I said out loud "why is everyone booing? Do yall think we are trying to slow down our own offense?" The fans around me laughed about it.
