Not worried about the ACC conf.
Last time I checked we play Clemson in the championship game, not the ACC conf.
Yeah the ACC sucks... and Clemson beat the all.

But you can't use their schedule as an indicator as to how good they are.
different team last year... they lost the game changing Defensive line group that gave them the upper hand.. they lost 3 dlineman to the first round of the draft, they created pressure and stopped the run all night with 4 guys... if you can understand how huge that is in football then you dont know football... Clemson is a very good team. Their LB is the best in America. They have a capable offense. but your sechedule absolutely tells what you are made of. if you want to see how this game goes just look at the common opponent.. TAMU...
the only question mark in this game is how our defense does vs their offense... trevor lawrence can burn you with his feet. but Ohio st's defense was a little overrated and they did well vs clemson... so I think our defense (being underrated) will do well vs them...as long as we are sound in tackling, we take care of the football, and prevent special teams disasters this is a 2 touchdown win for LSU. just look at TAMU.
Ohio state was the most physical game they played this season...
it prob wont be ours...

Can you really not tell that some people are exaggerating? I seriously doubt any of that is sincere. Do you also believe the posts that say “LSU 100-0?”

Since you’re in love with Alabama you’ve definitely seen us play the last 4 meetings.
And you’re 2-2 and have had multiple weeks to prepare each time. No one is saying Clemson would SUCK in the SEC, but I don’t think they’re 29-0 right now if they go up against LSU, Bama, Florida, Auburn, Georgia year in and year out.
And if you swapped with Georgia I think they’re undefeated With CU’s schedule.

But no one plays that year in and year out. UGA plays Auburn and Florida every year but they play LSU and Bama rarely. Bama plays LSU and Auburn but Florida and UGA rarely

I regret not betting on the LaTech/Miami bowl game. So many people bet for Miami to win and they just suck.

Good point. Let’s just say you swap South Carolina and Clemson, putting Florida and Georgia on their schedule every year, plus every now and then one of the big 3 from the west. Is Clemson still a strong team? Sure. But they’re not just coasting through a conference schedule anymore.

Of course they wouldn't destroy everyone the way they have the last couple years in the ACC or be 4 TD favorites in the SECCG but this year was the first since 2010 that Alabama lost more than 1 game in the regular season. Clemson has won the ACC 5 straight years, Bama won the SEC 4 of 5. Florida of course dominated the SEC in the 90's. So it can be done. I think its foolish to dismiss Clemson because of the other teams in their conference (not saying you are, but some do) they are a damn good team, if you put them in place of UGA or So Car i think they would have been 12-0 going into the SECCG this year. Certainly not 9-3

Their stats are slightly inflated playing nobodies, but they are by no means a bad team.
Their defense is good, but IDK of it is so far and beyond betteer than UGA Florida Auburn and Bama.

5th best defense LSU has played this year and that’s being very generous.

Well..last year Bama scored 16. This year A&M scored 10 and UofSC 3. That’s the last 3 SEC games soooooo yeah? I mean Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Ole miss, miss st., UK, Arkansas, are all juggernauts so who knows ??
This dude is right, and the OP sounds like he's trying to convince himself. Clemson is a heck of a team. I'm convinced LSU is better and would win 8 of 10, but Clemson only has to win one, and they've proven to be fairly good at that.

Last year Bama self destructed.
And this year Ohio self destructed. Hmmm, Clemson sure is lucky, huh? Or are they?

Auburn, Florida, Bama, UGA is 4
Which defense out of : Texas, Vandy, Utah State, Miss St, Ole Miss, Ark, A&M or OU is it generous to say Clemson's D is better than?

Clemson beat TAM 24 to 10 in a competitive game at home.
The game really wasn’t as competitive after the first quarter as the score would indicate. Aggies got a TD with 0:06 seconds remaining and were held under 300 yards.
That was also the same week we beat a Texas team with the same record as A&M (despite playing an infinitely weaker schedule) by 7.
Minnesota beat Auburn worse than we did.
The Clemson and LSU teams we’ll see on Monday are a far cry from what they were in September or even October.
The North Carolina and Ohio State games are the only two that Clemson was even remotely challenged. Granted, they should have lost to OSU.
Here’s hoping the real Tigers make them resent those SEC refs for gifting them that win over OSU.

No, I don’t mean to suggest that Clemson is not an outstanding team and would not have won either game. I’m just saying that last year Clemson was the beneficiary of some uncharacteristic really poor play by Alabama. Obviously, Clemson had something to do with that. Alabama isn’t typically a team to completely choke. Last years game with the Pick 6 and 3 consecutive 4th down tries is not typical and Bama gets everybody’s best shot.
The LSU offense you will see Monday night is a completely different animal than what Bama showed Clemson last year. I can assure you that Clemson has not ever seen an offense or a QB like what they will face on Monday night. You’ll just have to wait and see. LSU receivers are going to run to where Clemson DB’s are not. Burrow will rush the offense to the line and snap it before Clemson can figure out what is going on. They don’t do it that way every play but they don’t ever huddle and make it very difficult to substitute on defense. They have 2 speeds; fast and faster.
I’ve never seen a QB dissect a defense the way Burrow does. LSU’s offense 2 years ago was completely different so to compare Burrow this year to last year is not at all the same offense. I think you’re gonna be surprised.
I’m not saying LSU can stop Trevor. I’m saying I feel really good that Clemson will get gashed by Burrow. Nobody has come close to stopping Burrow all year. Auburn was the closest and the game wasn’t as close as the score. LSU still had over 500 yds offense.

quote:Yes - point is, Clemson's performance during the regular season tells us little about just how good they are. They proved to be for real last year. Are they for real this year? The OSU game suggests they are good but need a little luck to get over the hump. The only common opponent suggests LSU will wipe the floor with Clemson. Beyond that, there is little to go on. By comparison, LSU's performance during the regular season tells us a lot about LSU. Because the SEC is the gold standard. Clemson fans can carp all they want, but they know it's true.
Nobody is saying Clemson is just another ACC team. What OP is alluding to is that Clemson's stats, especially their defensive stats, are inflated or deflated because of the lack of competition.
