Gonna be attending the Shriners classic this year. Also my first time travailing to Houston. Any suggestions on where to stay? I get Hilton points through my work travel.

Spend the money and stay at the Westin right across the street from the park. Nice bar in the lobby area and good food.

No shortage of hotels downtown. Most walking distance or a short Uber ride away

You're going to have to give some more info as to what you're looking for

If you don't care, just stay at the Hilton downtown since

The Embassy Suites I’ve stayed at the last few times we played there is pretty nice. It’s right by Discovery Green and maybe a 5 block walk to Minute Maid

Hilton Americas if you are HHonors. You can walk to the park and restaurants downtown.

Also in that area is nice Marriott with Texas shaped pool in case interested. Fairly new hotel for downtown.

Homewood Suites/Hampton Inn (same building but 2 hotels) is 1 block from the park. We are staying there. Have also stayed at the Embassy Suites and Hilton of the Americas and both are good though they are 5-6 blocks away.

i stayed at the cambria one year... it was undergoing some renovations at the time but nice hotel, with a good bar and restaurant and also an easy walk for myself, wife and 3 kids... we have also stayed at the Hilton Americas which I thought was a very nice hotel with bar and restaurant and also within walking distance. like others have said, many options within walking distance. if your choice is dependent on Hilton points the Hilton Americas would be a good bet; the cambria is under the choice hotels brand which also offers a good points system.
