Seems so called experts have been wildly off. We know that no season will kill many careers but do not know effect of covid effect. We need to let them play!

The argument could be made that because we don't know the longterm effects of a disease without a vaccine, it would be reason enough to keep amateurs from playing games.

ETA: If it is strictly about the players, then it's better to be safe than sorry (and avoid a lawsuit down the line).

Didn’t you hear the rich NFL players say that football is non-essential

For players, are you saying that it is more likely they catch it by playing football as opposed to socializing potentially at bars. That is bs. I think they are more at risk catching it indoors so let them play.

How is football essential?

Yeah it would be nice to have, but it's definitely not essential.

Posting this shite in the Chase thread wasn’t enough for you?

And I think you’re confused about which side is melting on a daily basis right now.

Watch how many athletic departments fold up if football can't be played then try saying it isn't. Not to mention all the business around campus that depends on those home game weeks.

So it's strictly about money?

Then the players need to be paid, because they are the ones who would be most at risk.

Who says they shouldn't be? Try to stay on topic

This is the topic.

As long as the players are amateurs, college football is non-essential.

I just explained how that's not true, but whatever. Football is essential to the survival of collegiate athletics.

At the risk of amateurs?

ETA: Do you not see how this would be a lawsuit waiting to happen?

You can pretend they aren't compensated all you want.

They're free to quit and give up their scholys if they aren't comfortable.

Response to what?

I stand one way, you stand the other. If you want to get into a pissing contest, you can do that with yourself, I'm good.
