3) there isn’t much SOS difference in playing SU or ULL/ULM/Tulane;

Isn't there a rule that you can only count 1 FCS win every 3-4 yrs to become bowl eligible? I don't like playing FCS teams but I think this is a good 1 time deal playing SU.

What are the typical foods at an SU tailgate...serious question.

Fried turkey wings
Red beans
Smoked meats
Boiled meats

I even had deer and racoon at a Southern tailgate.

When you combine those things with LSU's tailgate foods such as ettoufee, sauce piquante, and jambalaya, this game is set up for some great food. Just bring blood pressure meds

Don't forget Louisiana School for the Deaf. You can't leave them out. It's discrimination remember.

I thought it would be a lot of bbq and less Cajun dishes.

LSU recruiting and optics as a whole.

Yep, optics are everything. Even when it is anti-American and built on lies. Thanks Woodward.

I'm excited for it. I hope they use the event to help unite the city and two universities with some Game Day events and such. A Tailgate Cook-off in Tiger Stadium Parking Lot would be pretty fricking awesome.

I also assume the Human Jukebox will be doing a badass halftime show as well.

From 1947-50, Southern went 34-0-2. So they’ve got that going for them, which is nice.

Yep.
I guess some fans don't realize that prior to integration, some HBCUs had some incredible individual talent. Billy Cannon recalled going watch a game at Southern just to watch the running back from the visiting team.

stadium will be empty by half time,no one will be hearing either band. And pray the lads with the purple & gold Rebel flags don't show up in style.

Generally, I am against LSU playing FCS teams. BUT, if we are gonna play them, I would rather play Grambling and Southern than SLU, NW State, or McNeese.

Just don’t piss off the band. We don’t need to be beaten with a trombone or tuba.

So you’re spinning this into that me not wanting to play any FCS school because we’re a premier college program is racist?

Meh…I hate when we play cupcakes. We could best SU by 50 points and it would still hurt us at bowl time. It is a no-win situation for LSU.

Whats even worse is that it counts as a home game and thus is a part of the season ticket package….I won’t even be able to give those tickets away, even though I paid pretty good money for them.

Southern is a nice local school but is absolutely not a traditional power.
