100% correct only I’d add the gun is now roughly 2mph faster since it picks up top speed where as the old one clocked speed crossing the plate.
But tRant is smarter than Baseball America and physicists. Ryan threw the hardest pitch ever at 108.8 corrected because it was measured 10’ in front of the plate.

Don't try to confuse the Rant with science, they know better. Just measure the pitchers today with the old technology and see the results. It would be the same if the golfers today had to use the clubs that jack used.

It is closer than I thought it would be but it is safe. But TBH they got really lucky that the wind never became a big problem in Omaha. Because if it was anything like last year they would have been eliminated. The wind has not really been an issue this year.

It should be clocked at the plate! That’s your true speed!
The time it takes to get from the pitcher to home plate is what matters. If it’s 100 out of the hand or 95 crossing the plate who cares as long as everyone uses the same reference point.
What matters more than the speed is the movement. I think it’s more important to have your pitch move a lot than throwing s couple of mph faster.

that or spin rate giving the deception of movement.
the term "rising fastball" is actually a fallacy.
there is no such thing as a fastball that gains altitude (rises). The backspin helps it to sorta buck gravity so it doesn't drop as fast as one with less backspin. Gives it the illusion of rising because the ball is higher at the plate than you would expect it to be.

OK Auburn fan. You’re a fricking idiot. We know that you’re not an LSU fan so why don’t you leave this board? Better yet go suck off whatever coach that loses so you can bring down LSU.
And yet you provided no context or any kind of other information that would dispute what baseball America has written in this article as well as MLB.
There has been proven that the guns were slower and where the ball is Measured today is from the hand and not the plate.
I’ll leave you with this. At 46 years old Nolan Ryans last pitch was 98 mph which was closer to today’s Velo but still 2 mph slower. That was in the 90s. So this is not like it was l In the 70s or 60s when he was a young man..

How many left to tie/break?
Posted on 6/24/24 at 6:22 pm to Datsmoneydude
I thought they had a deep staff. This is the first game I’ve been able to watch of the series. Have they been burning arms?
Posted on 6/24/24 at 6:29 pm to Datsmoneydude
I don’t think they’ll get it. But makes the game more exciting to watch for LSU fans.

What shred of evidence leads you to believe this?

I haven't disputed it because it's factual information. I just said you have proven the be one of the dumbest MFers on this board, because that's also factual.

We've heard you say this 100 times. Nobody really cares. You are an 80 year old Astros fan, and a moron that thinks the answer to everything is bunt, and would hold Nolan Ryans PP in your mouth if you could.

A&Ms pitcher seems to have settled in a little. Hopefully he keeps that up.
