I used to object to purple at home, but now after the Tigers wore in the UCLA game I'm on team purple. They looked really sharp that afternoon, in the blazing heat. I don't understand why gold/purple/gold still gets a bad rap, 30 years after Hallman

Im pretty sure this jersey went on sale before the season. I’ve seen posts (elsewhere, I believe) where people who bought it hoped it might show up on the field someday. Most, myself included, assumed it was just an alternate to sell to fans who want something a little different. Looks like that wasn’t the case.

I thought it was only out of conference games they had to get permission now. I may be wrong.

This is correct.
LSU's "default" home uniform is gold-purple-gold. LSU has to have written approval from NON-CONFERENCE opponents prior to the start of the season, to wear white jerseys at home. So far to my knowledge, Oregon State in 2004 is the only team to have denied that request, due to the Louisiana summertime heat.

It's not about you. Sorry. It's about the players. If they like it he will allow them to wear it. Look at any recruiting photo session. Every one will have photos of guys wearing some iteration of the white uniforms (helmet and/or pants). The players seem to like the white. This is a bit different, obviously, but it is clear the players like changing up the uniforms. Not just at LSU, but many schools.
Personally, I think the gold jerseys look very SWAC-ish. But it's not about me. I'm not the one wearing the uniform.

I am just in general annoyed about the I consistency if our uniforms.
Purple and White Jerseys are just inverters of eachother.
But this Jersey had a stripe around the number for no reasons.
Likewise the white helmets have 5 stripes (PGWGP) and the gold
helmets only have 3 (PWP)
and the white pants randomly have an L on the hip.
