Hodson article got me thinking. Who is the best all-time LSU QB?

Depends on what criteria you use.

I'm fond of Rohan.

YA had the best transition to the NFL. But Jones is the best LSU qb.

I was one of his biggest fans. It just sucks he only got to play one full season. 2001 I believe.

there have been some great ones although i'm not familiar with some of the pre-'65 teams. y. a. tittle was a great pro qb but i don't remember his college career. the best i've seen are "the ruston rifle" and tommy hodson.

Jones numbers don't look all that great because of the 2-QB system Cholly Mac had at the time. My list would be:

1. Jones
2. Hodson
3. Russell

Hodson was QB when I was in school so I like him the most. Jones, Flynn, and Mauck are good ones.

Jones was still a little raw out of college b/c Cholly Mac didn't know how to develop or use him.
He was a great talent, but Hodson was more polished in college

I would say Jones, Russell, Hodson but yeah, it's definitely these three. I do have to say, though, that my favorite that I've watched is Rohan Davey. I don't think anyone on this board can appropriately assess YA Tittle's LSU career for a number of reasons, so I take him out of the equation altogether. That being said, it should be no discussion that Bert Jones is the best QB we've had. Mel Kiper (shut up) has said before that Bert Jones is second only to John Elway as far as QBs coming out of college that he's seen.
