A plyo ball is not a medicine ball in this application. It’s a weighted baseball

And I don’t think they are lying too him. That’s not what I’m implying. I’m just saying for his sake I really do hope it’s just a finger causing the forearm pain and not something more serious.

This is A lot different than that being the original cause if the injury.

Again, more forearm tightness = not good.

Also, 2nd pitcher in as many days in the news.

Keywords; shut down.

For Hilliard’s sake I hope that is an honest explanation. Cause the other day it was a plyo ball

These are not contradictory or mutually exclusive. He could have hurt his forearm/finger throwing a plyo ball.

It’s not so much I think it’s contradictory, it’s that I’m not sure if they truly know.

Clarified this with Paul Mainieri today: Hilliard’s finger bothered him, then he felt tightness in his forearm again. He will not pitch this weekend.

Looks like hilliard did have the pain come back after that last outing, clarifies this issue. I fear we wont see hilliard for quite a while

quote:

Meanwhile, junior pitcher Ma’Khail Hilliard remains unavailable. The right-hander entered the season as a key piece of LSU’s bullpen, but he felt tightness in his lower forearm after using a weighted ball too much before the first game.

LSU treated the injury, and Hilliard completed a scoreless inning against Southern on Feb. 18. Then his forearm felt sore again. Two weeks have passed since the outing. Hilliard has not appeared in another game.

Though LSU continues to treat Hilliard’s forearm, when he tried to throw a bullpen last week, Mainieri said it “didn’t go well.” With Hilliard unavailable for the time being, LSU doesn't have one of its most dynamic relief pitchers and an experienced veteran.

“We can't figure out the deal with him,” Mainieri said. “We just got to wait a while to see if it gets any better.”

It seems baseball players have an incredible knack for suffering what seems to be the most mundane injuries that turn in to long stints away from play.
