MVB needs to be running the offense in the red zone with the read option and RPO.

The only thing nussmeier does that is close to being successful is the jump ball to Green.

DC's know that either LSU will handoff to a 140 pound RB or throw it to Green in the red zone. (Although I have seen Nussmeier sneak his head into a OL butt and lose a couple of yards every once in a while).

That BS where Nussmeier hands off then acts like he's throwing to the outside is funnier than most shows on the Comedy Channel.

We have the worst OC in the SEC and the 2nd to worst QB in the SEC. It's a wonder we are even ranked right now.

The point you’re missing is they are fundamentally being coached poorly.

We had the numbers on the RPO to hand off, and we don’t.

It doesn’t get any easier than that read. You can’t defend that decision. Something is seriously flawed with the coaching and what they are teaching.

They go in to O line too. It’s really bad. Inexcusable for a FBS D1 team.

You might be able to fix some of the play calling, but the way the O line has been coached I don’t think you can fix that mid season. That has to happen during summer.

That ship has sailed. The O will struggle as a result.

Sloan should be demoted this week. I was at the game and couldn't believe how bad we screwed this up. Kelly should take the play calling sheet this week and demote Sloan to QB coach.

That picture is hilarious. Too bad LSU doesn’t have a tall, athletic guy to spread to the top of that formation

that is the biggest issue to me.
You have the numbers to run the ball, then you run the ball. It's as simple as that. Football doesn't have to be difficult. That doesn't mean you gain 5+ yards every time in these instances, but you have to take what the defense gives you, b/c if you don't, then it's even harder to be successful when you're doing exactly what the defense wants you to do.

Flynn broke down a play where Nuss got sacked as he stepped up in the pocket. He broke down what the defense was giving Nuss and Nuss didn't even look in the right direction pre-snap, or post-snap. It screams that he doesn't know what the hell he's supposed to be looking at. Is it b/c Nuss isn't good, or is it b/c he's being taught wrong. I think it's a combo of both. And on that play Flynn talks about Hilton's route and how what he did is wrong in every offensive philosophy in football. Is that Hilton or the coaching?
Regardless this is a severely undisciplined team, on both sides of the ball, and that's on coaching. I'm not going to keep bashing kids for their continued wrongdoings in these games, b/c we all know there is a ton of talent on this team. This isn't southwestern central LA State & M, this is a top teir program with top tier recruiting. The failure of the players, b/c it's mulitple players, falls on the coaching, and it starts at the top.

wow.. i thought we played like dog shite watching the game Saturday.. after watching OTB film breakdown, this team is a joke.. Oline is not being taught proper technique. QB has regressed big time. Play calling is shite.. man the wildcat play is just mindboggling... Ray Charles could see what the play was. and thats just one. My goodness, this will not get better this year.

I have been a BK supporter. This game did it for me. I am done... He has to go. but i know whats going to happen. hes going to replace one of either the OC or Oline coach after the season. the ENTIRE offensive coaching staff needs to be gone yesterday. maybe keep Frank..

this team is

Does our staff do any self scouting at all????

We tell the defense what play we are running 50% of the time based on the formation and player package in the game.

Whenever it was done back in the day with Arkansas, DMac would be in the QB position, and Felix Jones would be coming in on a jet sweep. This is a half-brained version of it with an abysmal line. fricking Matt Canada did a better job than this shite!

As for the other guy earlier mentioning them possibly throwing it, you have Nick Anderson and Kyle Parker out wide. Treydez and Bauer are either in full on block mode or chipping. JJ wasn't ever going to throw it. Treydez would have been split out. See? It's easy to read Sloan.

Nuss should've burned another timeout. They would have had better luck putting Kaleb Jackson and Perk in the backfield to clear out a hole for JJ to run through. Is the O Line too dumb to go back to Jr. High football concepts? They damn sure can't zone block down there, and they haven't ever been very good at it in the first place.

It's all stupid BS.

They are showing sooooo many things on film that look wrong and obvious. I trust them to evaluate properly with their NFL experience. Are things not obvious to all of the coaches we have on the offensive side of the ball? It's not like Sloan is making these decisions in a vacuum.

We have 7 offensive analysts on this staff. Including someone like Tim Rattay who played in the NFL for 8 years. Alex Atkins was an actual OC for high powered FSU teams.

What am I missing here?

Another sign this team did not put in the work.

It’s too late now. This season is shot. These are issues that should be sured up during spring and fall camps.

This is my biggest issue with all CBK teams. Unprepared.

When you see basic flaws at multiple position groups as you point out, and Flynn did as well, the common denominator is coaching.

I think it’s that simple.

And what’s concerning for me, is if a couple of ex-Tiger players can see it, what are the highest paid coaches in FBS doing???? Why can’t they see it?

We’re too far in to a season to be this bad if it’s just a teaching/player issue.

Your point is completely valid. It seems like even if Sloan was missing something, all of the other experienced analysts would catch it and point it out. There are some well thought out plays but too often our formation is a giveaway to the play. And the QB is missing some obvious pre snap reads. There is something else going on here because it wasn’t like this last year.

Nuss had the gunslinger Ints last year, but he also made a lot of plays. Last year we had a bunch of drops that hurt us, and some this year, but there is something else going on that I can’t figure out.

And it’s not like they shouldn’t have seen it coming. All the reports from spring and summer camps was how poor the offense looked, particularly the offensive line. And yet, they just rolled it out there wishing on a star that somehow it would all come together. Sloan should have been gone before the season started. When Underwood committed to Michigan actually. But Kelly just let this happen. And he should have to pay for that with his job.

About the only time it has ever worked was with that Arkansas team and the play should have been killed off after that

It's a matter that it's game 7 and there are things you're seeing in the game film that are things that are coachable and SHOULDN'T be seen this late in the season. It's almost like the coaches aren't doing what they are supposed to do in preparing these guys to play.
