Sorry, I have to. I know I'm not the only one who said this though!

Yeah, I'm guilty too. After the Auburn game I thought we were going back to the SEC Championship.

We round at LSU. We don't have HP calculators in our pocket ready to go at a moment's notice!

LSU's run defense wasn't bad --- not great but not bad. I wonder if GT is going to try to upgrade that passing offense that racked up 95 yards a game before New Year's Eve?

No disrespect intended Apex, it's just that from my vantage point, LSU >>>this year<<< has not looked like the team you're describing (very capable of beating most teams). They have looked more like a "fortunate to get out of this game or that one, alive." Playing as LSU did this year, the Tigers are relatively fortunate to have won 7 games, given the SEC schedule and the fact that Troy folded in the 4th quarter.

"GT does have a better record, but one good year doesnt make you a juggernaut like LSU, USC, OU, UF, UT, Ohio ST. "

And your "juggernaut" reputation has absolutely no bearing over the outcome of the game.

I don't know where you heard all this stuff anyway. No one is talking like GT is far better than LSU. Just read our board. No one says anything remotely similar to that.

Playing at home, GT was just a little better than Gardner Webb. Thank goodness it was a home game!

The defending national champions should win in a blow-out.

If they can't pass the ball, they won't beat us...even as bad as our D is....we can stop the run if that's all they are going to do.

Didn't we already have a thread about this? UGA and Miami were both ranked higher than you were in Run D before we played them.

Stopping the run vs a traditional offense has very little to do with stopping the run vs an option offense.

Throttling a former national champion on a downslide can be quite satisfying. See 2005 Peach Bowl.

And we were only two years removed from the title.

I don't know what radio station you're listening to in Atlanta, but all the Tech fans I know are happy as hell to be playing LSU....literally a paper tiger this year....but definitely capable of having a big game, especially with a month to prepare.

A Tech fan who doesn't realize how talented LSU is has their damn head in the sand. 2008 may not be the year of the Tiger, but I'll be damned if I'm going to chalk it up as a W for the Jackets till I see it on the field. I think our players will be juiced to play a "damn strong football team".

To the origanal poster of this bullshite story

What station are you listening to?

I listen to both Sports Talk Stations all day long and have not heard any one of those quotes. We aren't UGAg fans and put our self esteem to the performance of our football team.

You can try and stir something up, but every Tech fan I talk to wanted to play a team as tough as LSU. As far as the score of the game goes, we will need to not have single turnover to win the game and nobody including Vegas is saying double digits.

Finally the Tech fans I know does agree that LSU is not in the same class that we are. If we work our butts off we have a chance to be. LSU has 2 National Championships in 5 years, we have 2 in 52 years. We aren't in LSU's class and very very few schools are.

Go hang out with the 20oz Bulldog- he will take your bait and create a fire storm. As for the rest of us- we are Jewish kid meeting the Pope. We have no business being here- but we sure are looking forward to the experience.

They could play Boise State again.

Tech hasn't beat anyone by double digits with the execption of Miami.

They have one good season in the last 8 years and they are getting a little big for those britches.

No...it's the same. You just have more time to work on it.

I was responding to a poster who chalked up an LSU win b/c GT doesn't pass and LSU's run D is so good.

LSU 'should' have beaten #1 Bama...outplayed them but gave it away. Then after that, LSU just gave up. From all reports, the team is determined, focused, and hungry..not to mention a little pissed.

My prediction.

Pain for the wreck.

first part true. 2nd could be true and they have good reason to believe that.
3rd is also true. we aren't in the same class as them. We are above them. They have their best year in over a decade and we have our worst year in 9 years.
