I worry about Jerrard Randall starting.

he won't. but even if he did, I'd bet he has much better instincts for the QB position than Jordan did.

Dude how long have you been watching LSU football? In that time frame what have you ever seen that would make you think LM would give anyone the opportunity to start at QB besides JJ? He was/is sold on JJ and will win, loose, or draw with him. The only way Mett would have gotten a chance to start at QB this year is if both JJ and JL would have got hurt.

if you know les miles he wont play a quarterback who just transferred here over 2 player who have been playing here for 4 years no matter how good he is.

Hell Andrew Luck wouldn't have started over JJ as long as Miles had final say

If Mett was any good at all, wouldn't he have challenged for playing time THIS year?

This was supposed to be JJ's year and Miles made sure it was. We could've had Aaron Rogers or Drew Brees on the roster and Jefferson still would've started. Lee only played because JJ got suspended and Miles had no choice. It was Miles' intention all along to return JJ to the starting job as soon as he was cleared. Each week he took more and more snaps up until the Bama game, which gave Miles the opportunity he was waiting for. Lee was benched, JJ took over, and the rest is history.

Here's another thought. Mett starts and sets the world on fire. Does the fanbase look back on this year and question why he didn't get a legit chance?

With out a doubt... There was never a thought in Les's mind about using Lee or Mett last night. My thing is he said he didnt play Lee because of the pass rush. In other words it was more important to let his Jeffy boy stink up the whole field and take every other player on that teams chance to win away from them. He didnt know how the outcome would be if he took a chance on Lee.... Lawd knows he couldnt have done any worse than Jeffy...

In my opinion, Mett did not have enough time to prepare for the season. It takes a lil while to completly grasp a college playbook.

I don't think we even have a playbook and if we do he would have to be a complete idiot not to know it after a full year in the program. I don't think Mett is an idiot. shite I knew every play LSU would run before they ran it and I was at home on the couch

People won't admit it but Les tried everything he could to play RP instead of Flynn. He would bring in RP and keep MF out of rythm. It happen all year, so lets hear about how Flynn was no good. The NFL begs to differ!!!

No, you look forward to the fact that he has another year. And then either Rivers or Kiel takes the helm.

You are obviously not very bright.

You said that Mett didn't play because of the complexity of the playbook. I said Newton played without need of full understanding of the playbook.

Mett is not Cam by any means. However, this LSU team is far more talented than last year's AU team outside of Cam.

Point being, the playbook issue is a bullshite excuse. Mett has been on campus for a full year now. I am willing to bet (if he is any good at all) that even a lesser version of the playbook in his hands would have gotten us across the 50 more than once last night and resulted in at least 100 yards of offense.

Randall is a good runner and a suspect passer. That sounds like a Miles kinda quarterback.

Mett was at LSU during bowl prep last year but Les didnt practice him because he didn't want him to be a distraction.

The best QB on the team is always the one on the bench, and that rule is not specific to LSU.

If you base that statement on season stats, then you are correct the best QB on LSU's team was on the bench last night.

BTW I get what you are saying is that the most popular guy on the team (from a fan's perspective) is always the backup QB, however, in this situation, the backup QB has better stats than the starter.
