If would’ve keep his nose clean and stayed out of trouble Cecil Collins would’ve been the GOAT running back at LSU. He had it all: speed, vision, power and size. Good to see he’s doing well though

Cecil was always nice to me; lived next to him in Broussard hall; he was always asking for a light though

Love the downvotes the dude is a pervert. Don’t care if he went to jail and found Jesus.
He was a very young man at that time. People do learn better and grow up. I did some really stupid shite in college too.

That game was against Breaux Bridge in the semifinals. Rumor was he spent that Thursday night in jail and still played against us the Friday night. Not sure how true that rumor was but it definitely sounds like it was true now that we hear his story. Either way, it’s good to see he changed his life around.

ETA - that game you went to may not have been vs BB. I just saw 1996 and remembered playing Leesville in the Semis that year.

He’s a proud husband and family man who has changed his life. Cecil owned everything he did in the past. He’s a Christian who is happy and said everything that happened to him changed his life for the better and made him the husband and father he is today. He’s an electrician living a good life in Texas. Still very proud to have played for LSU and was asked by Frank Wilson to come speak to the team. He happily committed to doing so. BK welcomed him back with open arms as he knows the full and complete story of his life and who he is now. To all of the idiots who didn’t take the time to watch the documentary, just STFU.

1997 Auburn game should have won. We quit running the ball for some reason and Dam Craig scored last drive for AU

Everyone is on there own journey in life. It’s not for us to judge. Sin just means error in it’s true definition. Looks like Cecil learned from his errors and used those lessons to grow as a person. Good for him. That is the only reason we are here on this planet anyway.

Cecil really was one of the best I’ve ever seen, and even still he wasn’t good enough to get away with jumping into girls’ bedrooms.

Really makes me wish I could have seen OJ run just to see what get away with murder talent looks like.

Glad the guy is getting it together.

I’ve been extremely critical of the guy because he is healed as this incredible player that never was

My personal opinion is that saying stuff like this is a disservice to the dozens of running backs to come through LSU.

Even if you take the four games that he actually played in and compare them to Fournette, Guice, Jeremy Hill, Kevin Faulk, Charles Alexander, Jim Taylor, Billy Cannon, Joseph Addai, Toefield, Broussard ,

Collins isn’t even in the top 10 of most talented running backs.

Looking forward to watching the documentary later. I was in high school when Cecil was at LSU. My high school regularly played Leesville and everybody was in awe of the dude. Those huge games he had at LSU will be etched in my mind forever.

Sorry Purple Spoon but Mike Gotfried called him the best I-formation tailback he had seen since Tony Dorsett at Pitt, so your not-in-the-top-ten at LSU is not working for me.

It’s a lot more than a football documentary. It’s a documentary about right and wrong, the crippling consequences, overcoming your demons, and finding peace with it all. I enjoyed it.
