Cecil has to be the most hyped athlete who produced least of any football player in college sports.

QB JJ had more production.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I owe that man an apology. Up to seeing that video, I considered him a thug and a punk, but the man he has become is inspiration to me. Makes me realize that you don't judge a book by it's cover, but you need to take the time and effort to read or see the entire story!

Congratulations Cecil! You've become a greater star than LSU or the NFL could have ever made you! God Bless You Brother! Geaux Tigers!

It’s crazy he was actually better than KF for that short time. Classic case of what might have been. What a great and inspiring story though.

You watched porn with another man? That doesn’t sound weird at all.

Sorry Purple Spoon but Mike Gotfried called him the best I-formation tailback he had seen since Tony Dorsett at Pitt, so your not-in-the-top-ten at LSU is not working for me.

Imagine if Fournette’s football career ended after the Auburn game in 2015

Of course the most electric running back I've ever seen play has become an electrician.

Ehh the dude broke into a woman’s house that went to his gym. He’s only sorry because he did like 15 years for it.

Meanwhile, George Floyd only did 5 for an aggravated crime. Don’t think he ever learned his lesson.

Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

The man committed a crime and served his sentence. He has found redemption.

Those that still judge him harshly for his mistakes in life. May the almighty God be just as harshly judging towards you on your day of judgement. If you can't be forgiving, why should you expect it in return.

I have to agree. He was a very engaging and gregarious guy but he showed signs of being a sociopath. I hope he's turned his life around but one would be naive to trust his wife or daughter alone with him.

He did the crimes.
He paid his dues.
He's just like me.
He's just like you.
When he stated that prison actually saved his life, you can tell that he meant it. It truly does look like he is doing the right things to KEEP his life on track. It seems like it all started going well for him when he found his soulmate while in prison. We have all fallen short but how many of us make better decisions to better ourselves and those around us after we have fallen? Cecil learned and is thriving. Good for him. Great story.

How would he do that with no video phones? Y’all looked at hustler magazine together?

I lived next to the guy in Broussard, he was a normal dude around there. Drugs, fame, alcohol change some people, I have no doubt he wouldn’t do those things sober. It is never too late for redemption, I’m proud to have known him.

Just watched this.
Great piece.
I am glad he is doing well, but it is sad to think of what might have been.

I was at that Auburn game in 1997. I thought I was watching someone who would become the greatest running back in LSU history. Every time he would make a big play. people would raise their arms up and down as though pulling the horn on a diesel truck, and the one who was leading that effort on the sidelines was Kevin Faulk. I remember that game very well, but the thing I forgot was that we lost it.

You would also have to imagine that 3 of Fournettes best games came in that window. Diesel was averaging close to 200 yards/game. He was leading the country in rushing after 4 games, and he only played in 3 of them.

If he truly changed, growth should be appreciated and learned from. People are fundamentally fallible, and it takes more strength to get off the mat than to not fall in the first place.
