I love Caitlyn Clark, but she plays Women’s Basketball

Pete played Men’s Basketball

Two completely different sports

She is the greatest women’s player ever, but you can’t say she ‘scored more points’ than the Pistol because she never played Men’s Basketball

Pete’s record is much more impressive… he did it against men

True, but she sure is a female Pete Maravich. Best player in college basketball.

They are two different records.

Pete played MBB.
Caitlin played WBB

Two different games. Two different sets of opponents. Two different skill levels.

This is akin to the women’s Stanford coach passing Coach K.

Nobody cares

You can't really compare them, but it will officially be the statistic despite rules changes that helped her beat it.

Everyone focuses on the 3 point line not existing in Pistol's time in school, but another major deal against him was the lack of a shot clock. This meant teams could simply run much of the clock down, and it now sits at 30 seconds limit for a possession. Even after that, the shot clock would fully reset after a foul, and was changed to now partially reset. Same in the NBA. This is the argument against LeBron at times because most of the decisions made for changes in the league have heavily favored offensive play.

Clark is an amazing player, and I'd much rather someone like her, a great all-time player, "breaking" Pete's record than some mediocre player that was gifted 6 years of eligibility to try and break the record.

Women play with a smaller ball but the same size rim. That in itself makes all comparisons a waste of time.

This is wrong. The NBA defense rule change associated with the zone made it more difficult to score.

It's because of the political slant in EVERYTHING that permeates every issue in America today.

It's why a few years back on CBS you had three wack jobs TRYING to run John McEnroe through the ringer because he had the audacity to claim that Serena Williams would be ranked around 700 on the men's circuit. They were DYING for him to say she was the best tennis player ever. He said she was the best women's player ever. A no no in today's clown world.

He's actually wrong about that. The top 2000 men in the world would EMBARRASS Serena if they were to ever play. He was being gracious, which is rare for him.
