Teams with two Power 4 wins this season:

Tulane -northwestern and duke at home
NC State-virginia and wake forest
Vanderbilt- Virginia tech and south carolina
Georgia Tech-Colorado and clemson
Ole Miss-Arkansas and kentucky
Iowa State- k state and iowa
Oregon-Oklahoma state and northwestern
LSU- clemson and florida

Yeah Clemson isn’t competing for a natty, and florida isn’t going to win the SEC. But those rosters are loaded with Sunday players. LSU had the most difficult opening 3 games in the country and its not particularly close.
Notre dame had two comparable games and they are 0-2

NATTY SEASON: [ON]

This is just factually incorrect. I don’t know who mathematically has had the toughest schedule so far but USF has only played ranked teams (at the time of the game) and Notre Dame has only played ranked teams

I guess not the hardest. USF has had 2 tough games and Notre Dame has had two tough games. But those teams have losses.

While an argument can certainly be made that USF and Note Dame have had a harder schedule, part of the OP’s post was having two P4 wins. USF has 1 and Notre Dame has 0

Pointless to argue over this though. It is indeed true that LSU has played one of the tougher schedules in the country through 3 games. Whether you call it “strongest” or Top3 or Top5 or Top10 is missing the main point… it’s been a tough opening 3 games compared to the rest of the country, And LSU is one of only a small handful of teams with two P4 wins through 3 weeks.

Yes, and two good P4 wins in that. Only if we had notre dame’s remaining schedule.

My point is that no one else has two quality wins to date.

Schedules have so much variety at this point, there’s no point in trying to compare resumes. LSU is the #3 team in the AP poll so who cares.

Because the large majority of the Power 4 play 2 cupcakes in the first 3 games.

Play all the games, then we'll know.

Miami beat both ND and destroyed USF. Your great win for LSU in UF lost to that same UF team.

Both LSU's P4 opponents are 1-2.

USF is better than many P4 teams, so let's not act like LSU's schedule is so clearly harder.

Trying to find excuses to justify some of the poor play on offense is just ridiculous. The offense has been bad for 10 of 12 quarters this season.

By the way, LSU's two tough wins have 0 wins vs P4 teams and only 1 win against Troy and an FCS school.

I don't think Miami is necessarily better than LSU, but stop it with this mess.

florida’s defense has let up 2 td’s this season. We have played three dlineman thatll be drafted in the first round this year.
We should rejoicing a 3-0 team instead of slamming the offense

I see your point, but he said best resume, not toughest schedule. ND and USF didn't "win" all their games.

Maybe so but it's too early for resumes to mean much of anything yet.

NATTY SEASON: [ON]

Not if our offense doesn't improve significantly.

I was very optimistic before the season started and even more so after the Clemson win. But reality has set in now. Call it intuition or the eyeball test or whatever you want but you can't convince me that we are going to win anything unless our offense improves A LOT.
Compared to last season, it looks like our run game is just as bad and our passing game has regressed. I am cautiously optimistic that Nuss's "torso injury" is the main reason and that things will get better soon. But if not, then we are in trouble.
Now, if our offense can somehow match or exceed last year's production and Nuss ends up with 4000 yds passing, 29 td, 12 int then we will definitely make some noise in the playoffs and hopefully win it all. Until I see something different, I'm pumping the brakes on my optimism.

Rankings really don’t mean much this early on these days

true, it's way too early, but silly voter polls don't EVER mean much.

The only ranking that matters in the final Playoff Selection Committee ranking.
