Just because they don't play us doesn't mean he has no reason to screw us over. If you haven't noticed, we've developed quite a pipeline in Texas and have poached several top recruits. He's trying to weaken LSU.

If I were a recruit and had a coach of a major major program like UT telling me not to publicly commit and "keep it a secret" to play some sort of game because he was that unsure of himself and his program, I would run away from that coach and that program like the plague.

What a loser mentality. Other schools might find out you are committed to us so they will then attack us? Really?

This is just further proof of what an unbelievable job our staff did in getting all of the early commitments we did and keeping them through the whole process. We lost one to the underhanded BS going on at UF and one to this underhanded crap at UT.

ETA: I think we ended up with a better QB by the way. And Thornton may be all the LB Fowler was and more. Also, Andre Anthony and Arden Key can play roles in Aranda's defense from the LB spot I bet. We are so deep on the D line we can afford to mix and match our athletic DEs with the LB corps.

Let kids sign at any time during the senior year. That will tell a program who is serious and who is not. Having a National signing date is stupid.

I still remember the bashing Les took when he offered a greyshirt to Elliott Porter. There were several national articles about how horrible LSU and Les were for doing such a thing to a poor recruit like that while every other program in the SEC and elsewhere were always doing this. For some reason, we were singled out on this one particular case.

Can you imagine if Les pulled some kind of BS like this? Now, this is some underhanded crap that deserves to be called out by the national media. But, Charlie Strong is a good guy blah blah blah. Reminds me of when Tom Osbourne carried that POS Lawrence Phillips and NO ONE ever called him out on that nonsense. What a great man Tom Osbourne is blah blah blah.

How is this really any different than the LSU and Ryan Perriloux situation? Perriloux was committed to UT and Miles kept recruiting him. On signing day, Perriloux chose LSU.

LSU should have known where they stood. You had a kid committed for a long time now and he's going into signing day picking a hat out. On top of that, he's an out of state kid that lives 10 miles from downtown Austin. What do you realistically expect?

You can't take the picture holding up the trophy fish until you reel him in and get him onto the boat...

frick. Charlie. Strong.

I've always been a fan of him but that shite is beyond shady.

Hope he gets fired mid season and his career never recovers.

I guess that prick become too much like daddy Urban during their time in Gainseville.

He told players not to commit to the Longhorns.

He wanted them to wait. Part of this, Strong admitted, was due to fear. He realized that as soon as a player declares a commitment, the competition knows which program to attack. And he knew UT’s 5-7 finish in 2015 left it particularly vulnerable.

“After the season we had,” Strong said, “I didn’t want them attacking us.”

I'm trying to find the dishonest part....

yeah but that was really on ryan's end... it wasn't like miles was telling him to lie to texas. saban left and miles had a month to field a signing class.
