Here is the deal with Chris Garrett

All of you people who keep whining and saying that Garrett would not have transferred if it were not for Lee or that we need Garrett back need to get a freaking clue. Chris Garrett was not that good. He did not have his heard in it to compete for the starting job at LSU. It was not going to happen.
OK???! Spin your pity party anyway you want it, but Garrett is gone now and it is best for everyone that he is.

it will be interesting to see how garretts career will progress. it seems lsu is constantly reaching for a qb, and probably will continue to have trouble landing a top tier player at the position. our qbs this year or going to make or break our team, and more than likely miles' job as coach. if we can't put a solid offense together, we'r going to continue to have trouble getting a top rated player to come play in crowtons system. i suspect our defense will be good, and maybe great. the pressure for jj to perform will start immediately, and if our line can't produce a running game, it's going to be all about the qb position. game planning will be at the top of the heap, and whether crowton can produce is questionable. with all the months of tutoring that both jj and jl have had, surely we can be better than 112th. the seaaon is upon us. let's hope we can have a winner on the field.

Then why did the coaching staff recruit him? This is your opinion and it doesn't mean shite!

Humphries and Nall left LSU ended up playing more in the NFL than the guys that were here ahead of them.

2 time MNC the last 7 seasons and we can't land and develop a major prospect at QB?... It's amazing
Until we find a QB..we are looking at 8-5 type of seasons...

If Chris Garrett had no heart as you say then you have to ask WHY. Is he hanging up football or LSU? No heart for football? Are the two guys in front of him better? Guys we are in trouble. Take the blinders off. LEE and JJ are just not very good and do not appear to be getting better. Best way to resolve a heart problem with a kid like this is to give him a chance. If he cant play then add him to les' failure in recruiting a decent QB. So much talent on this team but no Qb.

You should have followed up the title of your post with IMO! The deal with CG is he was never given a chance to compete therefore never had a chance to show his WANT!!! Why should he sit on the bench, work his a** off with the rest of the team, perform well in practices and sumer ball, get praised by LM only to have his scholley yanked??? The big question is did he have the WANT to PLAY football? By the decision he made the answer is YES!! Keep your eyes on this kid and he might just surprise you. IMO LM let some good talent go and did it in a heartless, selfish way! GO DEMONS!!!

I doubt you'd say that to his face.
Wish you had the chance though.
Maybe he'd show you.

I'm sorry ... I have a real problem believing that a kid that is so talented would transfer to Northwestern. Seriously, if he was that good, wouldn't he transfer to a better program? Yeah, I know ... "Nall and Humphries did it". Humphries had a problem with going to class, so he wasn't going to be around long anyway. Nall would be a valid arguement, but is more of the exception than the rule.

there was another player or two back then - that went to class less than stan did... and they stuck around.

Has anyone brought up the fact that we play Northwestern State next year....and guess who the QB may be for them? Let's just hope he doesn't pull another "Rick Clausen."

agreed, moving Hatcher to safety from QB is costing this team in ways that no one will ever know...
