Makes me want to go make a custom Pickett #5 jersey for Clemson game.

I would think on the field highlights are owned by the SEC, the member institutions involved in the games in question and ABC/ESPN.

Did Lane make this decision to give Pickett #5 and not at least discuss it with Daniels? To me that’s the only thing disrespectful done to Daniels if so. If Daniels refused to bless the decision you still proceed an honor the commitment. But I do think the right thing to do is give your former Heisman winning QB a heads up that you are doing it. Honestly that is the only sympathy I have for Daniels if that was not done.

LSU already paid to use his NIL when Daniels signed his NIL.

Will he send a C&D to Fanatics since they’re still selling his LSU jersey and tshirts?

And he still gets a cut......

Uhhh what writing? He was pretty dam special until he got hurt.

So was RG III after his first season. Then he was injured.

I don't think JD5 deserves the bad publicity. He was always a happy person who seemed to enjoy his role/life.
It seems there is too often a family member or "friend" trying to steal a young Star's fame/money.

I do think the Burrow #9 vs Daniels #5 racial component will come into play in the media eventually. I don't think it is really relevant, but that is not the world we live in.

It shouldn’t. If Pickett had requested number 9 he’d have gotten it.

Kind of wish he had. Hope that Pop gets it next season

He’s saying we can’t use his actual NIL for future marketing like we do with former players.

I'm will to bet that LSU owns the right to it's own media, including any video or images of Jayden while he was at LSU. If LSU wants to create a highlight video of any games while Daniels played at LSU, it can do so.

However, I believe that they'll smooth this out at some point.

If Daniels got his jock in a wad over this, it shows a remarkable level of pettiness and privilege. If his family or friends put this notion in his head then he got bad advice.
