Is this the guy?

Found a Louis Melancon in Miami who is from Crowley. Not sure if they are the same person.

ETA: This article seems to connect the two.

So does anyone know if he played baseball at LSU? Or perhaps LSU-E?

LSU-E didn't have a team prior to 2000.

In the 1980's I think UNO was still named LSUNO. Is that a possibility?

Dont remember him, but he looks like a guy who would lie and say he played for LSU. Hope that helps

He should lose his badge due to being a dishonest, lying POS. at least he isn't claiming a fictional Medal of Honor though. Some people feel so worthless with themselves that they feel the need to lie about themselves to impress people I guess.

Um, who cares? He is obviously not important enough for anyone to remember therefore he can be Uncle Rico and tell his stories to whoever is listening.

Ok guys, thanks for verifying this for me. I'm friends with some cops here in Miami and according to them, this guy claimed to have played baseball for LSU. But it obviously was a lie or a "misunderstanding" of some sort. I sure as hell don't remember any Melancon playing for LSU...

Usually these types of stories end up with him playing for a smaller feeder school that once played AT LSU once or twice.

they have the stats since 1984, no melancon
no AB, no pitching appearance

now rosters were bigger, we would have 50 guys seemingly, but i dont remember the name either
