As a TE coach. He's been the TE coach for 7 years now, during which we've consistently had highly recruited and under performing TE's. Sure, a lot of this falls on an archaic offensive scheme, but if we can hammer a WR coach for WR's not getting separation then why can't we bring scrutiny to a TE coach for poor TE play?

They've been consistently great blockers, but almost no production in the passing game. So is he a glorified OL coach?

I'm legitimately asking here. If he's a great recruiter I'd understand keeping him, but why is a man who consistently delivers middling results even being considered for a promotion?

This....I think he should've said why isn't everyone melting over the possibility he gets the position...the position that isn't even open yet

Because it's all but final that this is who they are getting.

The only person likely “high” on him as OC is Orgeron. That is why this trial balloon is being floated to gauge the level of potential fan support.

I think that balloon will be shot down.

Have we had poor TE play?

No one is high on him. He's a recruiter at this point in his career. If he's made into a OC, we'll be shopping for a new OC entering Orgeron's 3rd year at head coach too.

From perusing the board the last few days, I've seen several posters say "he's a great asset, just not an OC" or something similar.. My question is - what makes him a great asset at all?

He isn't my choice but if he gets the job I will wait to melt when his offense sucks

I’m just waiting to see if they’re actually dumb enough to make SE the OC.

Nothing is known.

He knows football. He breaks down film with the best of them. He's a very good coach. Just not who you want as OC

And blaming the lack of production from the TEs on him is ridiculous. Les' offense threw one pass to the TE every two or three games.

Do you realize he was the lead recruiter for Terrace Marshall?
