Weird that Max Johnson has more pass yards and TD's than JT Daniels and Spencer Rattler. More pass yards than Bryce Young and equal TD's.

But he isn't being mentioned? Why though? 3 INT's?

UCLA game left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. LSU wins that (with Max playing well). He is in the convo.

Why though

Because the Heisman is generally given to the best player on the best teams. It implies that not only are you a stat machine but you're also winning.

Probably because of the ucla loss. Voters don’t vote for guys whose team loses games. Heisman is no what it used to be.

Irrelevant in September. If we continue to win and he continues to throw 3 TDs per game, he will eventually get in the convo.

Because he's not a Heisman caliber qb? There aren't a lot of standouts this year but zero reason for him to be in that conversation.

Boutte is our only Heisman hope.

I mean I understand.. He isn't exciting, not the best on team but stats jump out..

I think he is being overlooked slightly.

Heisman goes to best “most popular” player on best team these days. Doesn’t mean it’s the best player overall.

So unless Ole Miss beats Bama expect BY to win. Georgia doesn’t have a flash enough player to win.

Raw stats don't tell much of a story. There's efficiency, competition and, of course, winning. I'm not surprised at all. If not for some fluky plays against MSU, it would have looked a lot different on the stat sheet, and people see that as well as we do. We can blame the offensive line for whatever, but Heisman contenders don't get many excuses. Just ask Leonard Fournette.

These are guys who were preseason favorites and can fall off.

It never was "what it used to be". The Heisman voting has always produced clownish results.

Young completes 8% more of his passes and averages almost a yard more per attempt and has 1 pick and his team is undefeated. He also has the Florida game on the books and that Miami game.

Daniels is a weird one. He’s thrown like 75 passes. More to do with UGA’s team success.

Hype is huge when it comes to the Heisman.

The stats may be good, but in no way does Max Johnson pass the eye test of being mentioned as a “great” player yet.

I agree with others that the UCLA loss hurt, but even had we won that game it doesn’t take an expert to see that Max has a ways to go before entering any conversation about best QBs in America. He’s not even one of the best QBs in the SEC yet.

Our passing stats are also skewed because all we can do is pass, this year at least.

UCLA game...bad INT, backwards pass, missed TD to Palmer. He didn't ooze Heisman in that game.
