Black Monday

Heavener and T Edwards will sting, but none of the others will be significant and will all be replaced by the incoming freshmen and maybe a transfer of 2.

That tells me that she's either Jayden's mom and had an axe to grind, or just a random "insider" just stirring up stuff. I have no idea, nor do I really care, but when called her statements into question, she got out of town.

One thing from another thread... someone called me out for saying maybe everyone was happy a former pitcher left.. in the past, I wouldn't have said that and been critical of anyone posting like that, but now with revenue sharing and NIL, many are not pure student-athletes in the way we used to think of them.

Because of that, if I feel criticism of individual players is needed here, I'm not as against that as in the past. I'm still not a fan of it, but I understand. So in that light, I don't think many are upset about her leaving.

McKee hasn’t yet developed and was one of the first IF off the bench. Others were all backups and Lauren Soeken had no business getting an LSU offer. Solid player but not SEC level. She was 3rd pitcher in HS behind OU and Arkansas commits. She will probably have a good career at Sam Houston or SFA type school.

Would be surprised (but not) and Heavener and Edwards but they probably are getting a bag from TT or somewhere else.

Someone mentioned it earlier, but one thing Heavener did that rubbed me wrong was she had a game where Beth came to make a pitching change and before Beth got to the circle, Jayden just stormed off toward the bullpen. Not a ginormous deal, but that just isn't how you are supposed to do it.

Also, I understand that this might be similar to Bella Hines situation as far as it goes with the dad being a pain in the arse

If Texas tech is willing to shell out a ton of money it’s difficult to blame the girls for taking a pay day. I enjoy the non revenue sports but first priority is seeing the big 3 has everything it needs.

Beth will probably still have us in our usual 42–18 regional season with or without Heavener. It is what it is.

heavener hitting the portal pisses me off. all the others are not tree shakers so to speak. tori edwards needs to stay. Regardless, she had a bit of a disappointing year and her crying over the shoulder bump and exiting the game was a bit dramatic. I've literally seen a 12 year old get carried off the field with a complete snapped leg crying less than what tori edwards did that game.

Maybe she’ll be developed better, but I thought the same with Berzon and she looked more or less the same.

Tech’s facilities are a dump, this is straight transactional

ETA: as much shite as I give Beth, Tech poached girls from Florida, Tennessee, and UCLA last season…all far better programs than LSU

You think I was suggesting Heavener might transfer to Louisiana Tech? I didn’t think it needed to be explained

You didn’t really specify much of anything

I’ll be sure to use crayon next time to ensure some don’t confuse the most controversial softball program in the country poaching players with Louisiana Tech. I am genuinely sorry this was confusing for you.

I talked about 2 players in my thread and you made a cryptic post like something was certain. I asked to clarify. Not a big deal.

Every top program in the country will be after Edwards and Heavener. Id imagine Edwards ends up at TX or TxTech with how much they focus on hitting plus tvey have the NIL budget to easily get her.

Heavener was the number 3 at yrs end, the hype isnt supported by the production..schools pay for production not hype. Edwards was a AA however it is widely known by her own travel coach she is very difficult to coach and wants to do things her way. TT is the best choice for her, she isn’t remotely close to Katie Stewart at Texas, might as well be on a different planet

I’ve heard fremin would take job at this point if offered but doesn’t smell like this would be the year. Not sure if fremin’s style fits the modern day SEC.

Would it be that hard for everyone to just get behind the coach and program and be supportive for God's sake? She coaches a team at LSU and anyone who truly loves LSU should support a coach until that coach is no longer there. That is how I learned how to be a fan at least.

Jacques posted on Facebook about Heavener transferring and I made the mistake of reading the comments. It is a cesspool of negativity and garbage, all over a coach who has NEVER missed regionals, has made a super regional half the time, and represents the university with class.

If she were an awful person, or if they were finishing below .500 and missing regionals, I would get it. The cloud of peripheral negativity around this program is disgusting.

Fair post and I would also ask the impact of the perpetual negativity’s impact on the program maybe more so than the coaching itself. Regardless, Beth’s seat is getting warmer and for legitimate reasons
