Is not a good thing. Looking back at this study now after the coaching we've seen thus far this year makes my stomach turn even worse.
quote:

Among the Power Five in 2020, the average staff is 44.2 years old. The coaching staff at LSU averages 55.2 years old, the oldest surveyed by a significant margin. Compared to other successful programs, Alabama (45.4), Clemson (46.8), Ohio State (48.1).

Shocking how we bucked the trend from this:

To this?

It’s almost like O got pissed about Aranda and Brady getting all of the credit for the natty and basically said “frick hiring young guys” from here on out. I don’t know what’s really going on in his head, but it’s amazing how he went from having the best and the brightest young minds in the country on staff to shitting on Aranda and Brady openly in press conferences and hiring a bunch of failed retreads who don’t step on his toes

Doesn't make any sense, Saban is 68 and without him the rest of Alabama coaching staff is probably average. Alabama wins because of talent advantage and Saban recruiting.

I don't know about that since he became the 2nd highest paid coach in college football but I wouldn't doubt it if he considered longevity during the DC search.

The age thing is a lil weird but doesn't bother me too much. I'm sure there are NFL teams with great coaching staffs filled with guys up in age.

Bo and the defensive coaches needs to start coaching this defense like freshmen and sophomores and forget all of that big-headed BS hype from preseason about how great they are.

Those players in the NFL are making their money. It’s different with college players who need all the film they can get to get there.

Don’t you think there’s a reason Saban flopped in the NFL but he’s the GOAT college coach?

Tough pill to swallow. Much easier to think our coaches are older than to see that they are the oldest. I wonder where we rank at in payroll.

I see he didn’t take a cut either. Second highest paid HC next to Saban for 2020.

I was originally pissed at O because hiring Canada was the opposite of being innovative and seemed like he was doing it just because the guy won the Broyles award. Then he doubled down getting Ensminger and hiring other close to retirement people.

Getting Brady, I was super excited because it seemed like he finally figured out being young and innovative with your assistants was the way to stay a step ahead. Then this previous offseason happened and he fell back right into doing what seems like he WANTS at LSU, not what LSU NEEDS.

“I want an attacking 4-3 defense. This defense is better than they were at any point last year.”

Hopefully that shite goes away after O’s statements made him look like a complete fool come game time. Otherwise we are screwed.

O did exactly what guys like him do after having a tremendous amount of success. They get divorced, start chasing arse instead of busting arse and hire their friends instead of the most competent people they can find.

Nick Saban isn't the greatest college football coach of all time because of his knowledge of X's and O's. On the contrary, he's the greatest because his mindset never changes in regards to how he conducts business.

Spare me your boxing classes and jogging. I could care less. Spare me your "thoughts" on this years defense versus last years. I could care less. Stop jerking off and find the fire you had in your belly since arriving at LSU.

The most difficult part of being successful is maintaining a fire or drive to continue being successful.

Don’t you want to sustain that success?
LSU won the title partially because of a bright, young, innovative mind. Experience is great but you need to season it with new ideas. Otherwise you get stale.

Ryan Clark mentioned how old the staff was when we hired Bill Johnson.

Of course we went on to win a NC
