Their offense has gotten more consistent as time has gone on, but so has our D-Line.

Does that mean both can't be true?

What the heck is your problem? There you go again with the personal insults.

My point was the defense has gotten better but when someone points out what could be improved, that’s not trashing anyone. The players have been playing hard.

And if you’re going to resort to childish insults, at least get it right.

It’s wife’s.

Goodness you’re a weird guy.

He's a simple guy. I'm actually jealous of him. How great must it be to live your life every day without a care in the world, because you can just magically create whatever scenarios you want in your head. No logic involved, no solid reasoning, just I want to believe this and BAM, now I do.

I deal in facts, not faith.

And I've seen nothing so far this year to make me think our D will suddenly step up.

Our defense is terrible at maintaining the edges. Letting Milroe outside to throw or run will kill us.

which is why you blitz and blitz often until he proves he is good at hot reads/screens/draws.

can inside guys maintain gap control?

if so and they do not let milroe run between tackles then you blitz off each edge with strike 2 deep calls/coverages. to keep him contained on the edges.... then mix up overload blitzes, etc with CB's, safties, LB's, etc. lots of other zone blitz also. man blitz has the biggest risk/highest reward while zone blitz may make it easier for him to complete a pass if the blitz does not get to him BUT you have a better chance of coming up and making tackle and him not taking it to the house.

I get what you’re saying but that goof takes it to a whole new level.

Not going to happen. Not enough horses. Bama will run and run . If their smart they hv watched game film and to this point against teams with a pulse our HC and DC can not make adjustments. Run, run, fake dive throw quick slant all night long. See Hogs /Omiss.

Here are the opponent's rushing stats vs LSU this season. Odd how you picked the only two games in which LSU did not hold their opponent to fewer rushing yards than their season average.

Florida State - Averages 173.7 YPG, they rushed for 135 yards vs LSU. That's 38.7 less than their season average. If you correct for the LSU game they are averaging 180.2 YPG. That is 45.2 less than they averaged against opponents other than LSU

Mississippi State - Averages 148.1 YPG, they rushed for 54 yards vs LSU. That's 94.1 less than their season average. If you correct for the LSU game they are averaging 163.8 YPG. That is 109.8 less than they averaged against opponents other than LSU

Missouri - Averages 149 YPG, they rushed for 116 yards vs LSU. That's 33 less than their season average. If you correct for the LSU game they are averaging 153.7 YPG. That is 37.7 less than they averaged against opponents other than LSU

Auburn - Averages 186 YPG, they rushed for 139 yards vs LSU. That's 47 less than their season average. If you correct for the LSU game they are averaging 193.8 YPG. That is 54.8 less than they averaged against opponents other than LSU

Army - Averages 188.4 YPG, they rushed for 151 yards vs LSU. That's 37.4 less than their season average. If you correct for the LSU game they are averaging 194.7 YPG. That is 43.7 less than they averaged against opponents other than LSU

Now the two bad games. Arkansas, while we should have held them to less, was not exactly abominable. Ole miss was a nightmare though

Arkansas - Averages 109 YPG, they rushed for 137 yards vs LSU. That's 28 more than their season average. If you correct for the LSU game they are averaging 105 YPG. That is 32 more than they averaged against opponents other than LSU.

Ole Miss - Averages 189 YPG, they rushed for 317 yards vs LSU. That's 128 more than their season average. If you correct for the LSU game they are averaging 167.7 YPG. That is 149.3 more than they averaged against opponents other than LSU

Taken as a whole, LSU's FBS opponents have 8261 rushing yards in 51 games for an average of 162 YPG. LSU in the games vs these opponents (7 games) has allowed 1049 yards for an average 149.9 YPG

Alabama's rushing offense is worse than every opponent LSU has faced except for Arkansas.

TTT has always been that way and been destroyed by posters here for years. kinda like dallas55tigers schtick each year that LSU will win the opener 65-0 and we have the best talent in the nation.

You "predicting" anything is laughable.

This makes no sense. But coming from you, that's not surprising. You can predict farts?

For someone who, if I'm correct in my assumption, is almost twenty years older than me, you sure don't have a problem with doubling down on your idiocy and acting like a 12 year old kid that never grew up. Do you stomp your feet and cross your arms after you post?

Do you act like this in real life? Really asking.

My only concern is I don't think we've seen a Defense as good as Bama's. Can we maintain the level of explosiveness we've shown most of the year? If we do, I feel like our D will only need a 2-3 stops.

I’m hoping to see Alabama settling for 3’s a couple times and turning the ball over on downs because their QB choked on fourth down. A couple of each occurring would be nice, with Alabama stressing over how it will keep up with LSU’s scoring.

[quote]You give two examples of how Alabama scored LESS than LSU did against common opponents, then state that MORE than they have in those games by a factor of 2.

I was just sharing the big games. There isn't really a transitive property. I am just sharing that our defense is going to give up a lot of points, so our offense will need to score a lot.

Well said. Add in missing not just cb1, but cb2,3 aren't with the team even, and cb4 (welch) I've heard from an acadiana parent, is likely transferring eoy. Feeling like the ucf bowl game at cb.

Offense needs to be perfect

What in the world has been going on with the defensive secondary to be down all that?
