Why in the world did we do that? Why not make them score from the 25 and take more time?

Ole Miss could have scored from Tupelo.

The intention was to kick it to the 15 or so and make them field it and run off clock before being tackled. But due to horrible execution it was kicked directly to one of the front men who fielded it.

Because we have bad coaches. Really that simple. Just like trying a kick return only to be tackled at the 15. Again, bad coaching.

Kicking it deep and Make Ole Miss go 75 yards instead of going just less than half the field.....?

Now that's just crazy talk

10 yards of field position didn’t really matter in this game, but I wanted more of a normal onside kick.

Steal a possession there and it’s basically game.

Not bad idea. Poor execution like everything else we do besides offense.

Just an extension of the terrible coaching job in the 4th quarter. It’s all part of the same mindset that led to the bad clock management and terrible play calling late in the game. Symptoms of the same problem, our guy panics a lot.

It seemed really silly at the time. I fully expected a Sabanesque onside kick then, what with LSU having taken a (seemingly) commanding 49-40 lead, and with all the momentum.

Well, Kelly is no Saban, and the squib kick was ridiculous.

It was poorly executed, but all they needed to do was kick a FG.

That’s why I felt we should have gone for the first down on fourth and seven.

I also was expecting an on-side kick to kill Ole P*$$ momentum, but no such luck. We were out coached in the final minutes of this game in Oxford. I can not say this is our worst defense ever but it’s certainly right there with one of our worst coached games. Old P*$$ is still at the lower end of the western division and we lost to them. What does that make our LSU team? Congrats to Pete Golding and his team’s defensive stop when it counted the most. That was a great timeout which revealed the LSU final play to Lane and company.
