New Line???
Didnt they only replace 1 offensive lineman?

2

They lost Smith and Caldwell...their two best linemen. That's pretty big...you lose starters at the two most important positions on the line...LT and C.

What positions were Johnson/Helms

I mean obviously Johnson since majority of our runs plays started from behind his mammoth arse.

Was that a serious question or were you trying to equate LSU and Alabama?

First off....Johnson played guard for us.

Secondly, Alabama returns one guy. We return three. We'll have issues at center, at first, and we'll miss Big Herm...but we aren't reconstructing an entire line.

Third, you were the one claiming Alabama was going to run the ball 50+ times a game, and then scoffing at the notion that their loses on the line might prevent that from being successful. I think I have shown that Alabama has lost quite a bit, and by extension that running the ball 50+ time a game probably won't work. Maybe it will. Maybe Bama has some awesome players we haven't heard of. Who knows?

Well I dont exactly keep up with Bama... see the W I am a Washington fan

Bama has some big old dudes I looked up their roster. I still think they are going to run it 50+ times a game and be dominant.

I think LSU fans under estimate Helms I mean the dude lead the offensive line imo he just doesnt get credit Black/Johnson get.
Johnson/Black was the side we ran behind majority of time last year. Missing the "biggest baby ever born in state of Louisiana"

There was alot of competition in 2001 season. Every team but Miss. St. had a legitimate shot. Somehow the stars aligned for LSU to win the West. We then went on to destroy Illinois.

WESTERN DIVISION
LSU 5-3
Auburn 5-3
Alabama 4-4
Arkansas 4-4
Ole Miss 4-4
Miss. State 2-6

How is it unknown 50 rushes a game with their stable of running backs. Throw the ball to Julio 10 times a game. There you go, its no longer unknown...

You are a doofus, do you not remember anything?... qb gone, top rb and other rbs gone,
half off line gone, and def stars gone also... do you just react on a whistle from anyone, pavlov's dog'?...

Hmmm think Ingram has definitely replaced Coffee. They have a junior QB come in to to play witch is alot better than what LSU had last year.
They return a very talented defense and majority of they key players and most importantly their defense coach returns.
Bama will either have best or second best defense in SEC behind or with Florida.
Bama will be good anyone who thinks they will not especially with their schedule is just viewing things with P&G glasses on.

Yup I also saw Utah go undefeated last year. SO what ya saying?

Are you claiming that Utah was a fluke that they did not deserve to win the game?

Utah had to get up for that one game all year... does not prove anything, except that bama took the day off and sucked big ones...

No offense but I would have taken Bama's record over 8-5 last year and lost to Arkansas....

You sir are bitter because Arkansas keeps beating LSU, get over it. We will not be worse next year and will be right up there with the mix at the end of the season. The other guy was right, our schedule is going to KILL us. Hopefully we can get some wins we don't expect.

As for Malzahn, he isn't going to surprise anybody. Anybody who knows anything about college football knows who this guy is and knows what he as coming. If you are going to mark Auburn down as an easy win, you are going to regret it. With him there, they automatically become a contender.

No way is Ingram as good as Coffee.

We (LSU) have a sophomore coming in who will be alot better than what we had last year- Alabama has a young, unproven QB (McElroy) and a backup who looked horrible in the spring game (Star Jackson).

The defense will be very good no question.

Bama will be good

Not the offense.

my take is that ole miss and bama are going to find a radically different landscape this year. lsu will be improved for sure. i predict auburn will improve even if only marginally. ark will be better. heck, ms state might improve. wins for ole miss and bama are going to be significantly more difficult than last season.

Hard to do when

A. QB is on his back from no blocking

and

B. What QB is gonna get it to him..not trying to say Sarah Jessica Parker Wilson was great..but he was a lot more experienced than the current selection...

I see Bama runnig into the same QB troubles we had last year...good prospects as far as talent...no experience in the SEC = lots of Int's and frustrated receivers (See D Byrd this season)

Not I, I doubt their offensive coordinator lets him open up much on offense. Probably alot of easy passes at beginning of season to instill confidence and then later in on year.
I really doubt they have same issues we had last year. McElroy has seen the field where LSU had a QB who was a Freshmen had never seen a college football field other than practice. He has participated in 8 games and attempted 20 passes not alot but still more than some college QB's.
Anyone who brings up spring game is a fool, because
A: its vanilla offense
B: he is going against that very good D

They will be fine as they have a nice stable of RB and WR's. And an offensive line that is all 6'2" 275+.

I'd have to say based on the collapse in the sugar that they should be concerned with their line. I'm not saying the replacements won't get better but it seemed to cause MAJOR issues in the Sugar for them. Now most of their fans and Nicky will say they didn't even want to be there but come on.

I'm losing sleep over that and qb if I'm them.

See I think opposite, I think Smith getting suspended the week prior caused the shake up. I mean watching game majority of pressure came from Smiths side. His back up was not well prepared, I think having a full offseason, plus spring they will be better prepared than last year.
Its a massive offensive line that should be able to stand people up long enough to run the ball effectively.
