Any one of 4 teams could be in first place when all said an done. For god sakes ole Miss even has a chance to win the west. Alabama has the easiest schedule in conference so i believe they get the nudge but i believe LSU will beat them at Alabama. Just feel like that will be their only conference loss and the other teams in the west will have 2 losses because of the brutal division. Hope i'm wrong.

Can't say that I agree about Alabama. I think we'll see more of the same play on defense, which will keep them in most games. However, the offense is unkown and could go either way. So, I don't know if Bama can keep riding the luck. Remember, it took some luck for them to beat UK last year. They took an early lead on OM, but they were closing towards the end. I expect them to drop a few close ones. OM and Arky will contend. AU will definitely have some upsets as well.

I know Mallett is supposed to be really good, but I'm not ready to say that Arkansas will contend next year.

Arky brings back something like 20 starters, they will be good. I see everyone having 2 losses. Unfortunately at tie would go to old mrs.
I sure hope we can finish the west with just one loss!

How is it unknown 50 rushes a game with their stable of running backs. Throw the ball to Julio 10 times a game.
There you go, its no longer unknown...

You can run the ball 50 times a game, but if you have no blocking, you go three and out. The point is with a new qb and line, Bama's offense is a ?

New Line???
Didnt they only replace 1 offensive lineman? If thats the case LSU will be in real trouble with Helms/Johnson gone

Yup I also saw Utah go undefeated last year. SO what ya saying?

Are you claiming that Utah was a fluke that they did not deserve to win the game?

Plus did they not have but only a week to prepare once Smith fricked up? I mean they have had an entire off season/ spring I think they will be in better shape.

I would ask is this the strongest the West has ever been? Balance sounds like there are a whole lot of mediocre teams, IMO

Ole Miss lost how many players to the draft this year. A couple of first round picks. Alabama will have an inexperienced quarterback. Note! see LSU last year. Arkansas will be tough, Auburn and Miss State will be in the rear. I like LSU's chances with the senior leadership at running back, Charles Scott and Keiland Williams, Wr. Brandon Lafell, TE Richard Dickson, and Black in the offensive line. We are talking about sure draft picks next year. Some first or second round talent. Plus an improved D under Chavis.

2

They lost Smith and Caldwell...their two best linemen. That's pretty big...you lose starters at the two most important positions on the line...LT and C.

Alright I just looked it up. Alabama returns only one starter on the offensive line.

Caldwell and Smith were the two most high profile losses...they were both drafted pretty high. Smith got most of the attention, but Caldwell was just as important.

That's what the West is right now, though.
