Went to the meet VS Arizona this weekend. It was awesome! More fans in the seats than at LSU basketball games. Average home attendance over 12,000 - ranked #1 in the SEC and #2 nationally for attendance. (I believe both baseball and Basketball average somewhere around 11K).

DDB Breaux has coached for 41 years and the only thing that's missing is a Natty! Let's get it!

It's hard to judge against baseball because baseball will always have damn near 10x the amount of home games, but from all the athletic events I've been to in the last couple years, it's become pretty evident that gym may very well be the second most popular sport on campus. As a basketball guy I'd imagine next season might change that, but gym has reached an unprecedented level right now.

Not sure if its second but its a very popular and has tracked a lot of fans not just at LSU but all over the country.

I would without doubt at the moment but it in the top 3 ish

Its now a must do as a student at LSU today.

It will never be on the level of football but gymnastics as a sport has picked up a lot of traction over these last few years. Look at other schools, attendances for everyone are on the rise

Not sure whats funny?

Most students attend meets at some point, they are fun. Most the time they run out of room for students at each meet unless they move to the general admission sections

Someone is out of touch.

From a pure entertainment standpoint, it may be better than even football, but its certainly better than basketball or baseball. I've been to all of them over the years, and at this point in time, its number 2. I doubt that any of the down voters have ever been to a gymnastics meet and have no idea how entertaining and athletic these ladies are.

Right. So how could it be the 2nd most popular sport on campus when you readily assume the majority haven't even seen a live event?

I have dreams of my little girl in a P&G leo, but it still has a long way to go before overtaking baseball or basketball, IMO. How much revenue does it generate? How many season tickets sold? Corporate partners? National media and exposure? Etc, etc, etc...

It's about more than just winning. Girls track were elite for a very long time, and never achieved that level of popularity.

When Will Wade makes LSU a top 5 program, the PMAC will be packed.

Because it’s not a legit question.

There are the big 3 or Football, baseball and men’s basketball. Those will always be 1,2 and 3 in some order.

Women’s sports will never be as popular.

Hell woman’s basketball at UCONN would be at best third and likely 4th after basketball and football.

When's the last time you've been to a baseball game, basketball game, and a gym meet?
