Never been to a gymnastics meet, but I did go to volleyball game this past fall.
It was a nice fun atmosphere. Good game-day experience.
Right now "Good game-day experience" doesn't exactly describe football. And baseball seems to be headed that way.
I think those programs know they have to put something fun out there to get people to come.

How much are the tickets to a meet? If it's so popular why does it lose so much money? How many would show up if they didn't almost give the tickets away? Honest questions.

Rather than say something snarky like many would do I would just invite you to attend a meet in the PMAC before making such a judgment. If you bleed purple and gold like most of us get there in time for the introduction. It has to be one of the most intimidating spectacles in college athletics. The lights dim, the ladies are cued to explode from the tunnel, 13,000 roaring fans awaiting as the announcer introduces the two time defending champions of the Southeastern Conference and the prancing and dancing LSU Tigers race onto the floor amidst an incredible light show. Each gymnast is introduced with their accomplishments from freshman to senior The atmosphere is electric as the opponnennts wither in their corner while the Tiger nation greets the two time national runnerups. The meet is virtually over as the visitors stand in awe. By the end of the second rotation, sometimes even the first all that remains to be decided is the margin of victory. The best athletes on campus put on a clinic capped off by the sassiest floor show in college gymnastics. How dominant are they? 20-1 in the SEC the last three years. If that does not interest you , yeah best you stay home and watch some weird sport on an ESPN channel
That right there is the gayest post in TD history. It ain’t even close...
