The only things I see holding him back are his ability and willingness to step up in the pocket and the inaccuracy in his vertical throws downfield. He will be All SEC, next season.

He has the physical tools. He has the heart. Needs to get the mental aspect down and he should be fine.

Needs a real QB coach. JJ has the ability, but doesn't have the intangibles. Needs someone to work with him, seems to be all on his own like the other guy was. Afraid he will be ruined without proper coaching

He has all the tools.

All-SEC?

Maybe 3rd-team at best. Very best.

Good individual stats, but not much else.

Arky game was probably his best performance since the Peach Bowl. He was pretty clutch this past Saturday. Not great, but good.

His stepping up in the pocket has improved DRAMATICALLY since the Florida game.

I can't believe you all don't see that.

That one sack in Oxford last weekend was the exception - but he was hobbling all game.

The dude will only be a Junior next year. I'd take his Junior year over Mauck or Flynn's Senior years in a heartbeat.

He's a great QB. The real dilemma will be how to get Shep meaningful playing time with JJ entrenched as a top 3 SEC QB.

He is still making the same mistakes, not looking off his primary receiver, etc.....Arkansas and Auburn have horrible defenses and he still looked average. He is limiting the offense.

That said, he REALLY needs a quality QB coach. LSU doesn't have one. Hopefully a OC/QB coach with experience bringing up young QB's will come in.

Auburn imo.

It's tough to say though when your receivers drop multiple critical passes (OM) or your passes are called back because of penalties. (Bama)

He's not a great QB by any stretch of the imagination. He may be one day, but I've not seen anything so far to indicate his greatness is imminent.

Most on here would fight you to the death to make you believe it's all Crowton's fault. I think it's a mixture of both.

He needs more coaching for sure

the talent is there fr sure.

He was on fire last night after the int.

Led the game tying drive.

He'll get better, but he needs more coaching.

Keep in mind Rohan, Booty, and Nall didn't look good until Jimbo and a real qb coach got in there.

He is like Jamarcus...athletic ability but nothing between the ears. He will not be a great QB. I think Lee got a bum deal...thrown to the wolves too early and now wont get another chance to start. I think he is a better overall QB than JJ...dont even bring up the bama game because he got zero snaps in practice with the first team. He did well given the circumstances.

JL is done.
I was sitting on the 50 last night 26 rows up behind LSU bench... trust me when I tell you JL looked as interested as my 9mnth old would have been and I cant say I blame him.
