Has Jayden Daniels risen past JR to #2 LSU QB of all time?

And save me the "one year" stuff. Burrow had one amazing year and he's the undisputed GOAT. JR had one amazing year and he was the GOAT before Burrow.

Through 9 games, 69.8% completion rate @ 7.4 ypa. 1994 yards passing, 14/1 TD:INT. 148.8 rating. 619 yards rushing with 10 TDs

2006 JR was: 67.8% completion rate @ 9.1 ypa, 3129, 28/8. 142 yards rushing w 1 TD. 167.0 rating.

The rushing gives Daniels an edge, but JR has an insane ypa that year which makes a big difference in their respective ratings. JR was also the best QB in CFB in 2006, also (frick Troy Smith). The rushing is going to be the area where the discussion trends, I reckon.

ETA: Respect your overlord Jayden Daniels

JD is a cross between Mettenberger and Herb Tyler. And I love it!

Gotta see how the next 3 to 4 games plays out

This game made him a legend. If he wins an SEC title, and goes to the CFP, he’s an all time great Tiger

It’s all in front of us

He's already a legend for last night.

But I don't think he's passed Rohan Davey yet.

Rohan's CAREER TDs at LSU: 29
Jayden's TDs in 2022: 24 (in 9 games)

The way that the NFL is currently trending for QB position, I would agree he is gone after this year.

I’m all in on Daniels, but man I don’t know if I can put him over JR yet. I know he fell out of favor with many for his NFL bust status and Bama Boy stuff but in BR the guy was incredible. I’ll always love that run.

This game and Jayden will go down in history, but JR led this team to 10-1 and the SECCG post Katrina with the huge win in Tuscaloosa and obviously the ASU win.

That 06 team missed out on greatness but he was still unstoppable every game other than UF and Auburn. Arizona, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, and obviously Notre Dame taking us to the Sugar and #3 final ranking I just don’t think anyone other than Burrow has that resume.

Yet.

Jayden has several more games this year and if he continues this trajectory next year hell yeah he’ll jump JR.

But not yet. Yet

I love JD and what he brings to the table but still needs help with accuracy and deep ball

Stats are just a piece of what Rohan did IMO. That dude was a leader of men. That being said, I think JD has many of the same qualities. The team definitely plays hard for him (the last TD is a prime example). If Josh and BT didn’t love their team and their QB, they don’t make the blocks they did.

Depends on what happens with the undefeated teams, but my gut tells me no.

I'll say this, his skill set is unmatched, period. The best dual threat, EVER at LSU.

He doesn't light it up throwing the ball first. So I'd say a hard no.

Have to ask yourself, does his game translate well into the pro level? No

Becoming a good college qb though that's to his legs. Passing is just way too inconsistent

Dude, did you stop watching the NFL after the Cowboys' last title?
