Bomani Jones tells a story about a time his brother played pickup ball with Jackson when his brother attended southern.

He said his brother realized who he was playing with so when he was guarding him he decided he was going to sag back so as not to get embarrassed by the crossover. Jackson STILL crossed him over and made him fall despite his brother knowing what was coming and sagging back to prevent it.

Jackson was other worldly quickness wise.

People can say what they want about the Muslim religion but American Muslim groups have done wonders for young black men, in CJs case mixed raced men. He really struggled with his disability and not having a father and religion focused and matured this man. He had a good career and is now teaching young men basketball and life lessons. Idc what religion did it but he benefited from his beliefs.

Exactly. He never saw himself as a martyr. The fact is I am supportive of our right to stand, sit or kneel. My family fought and died for ALL of us choose.

Chris has never been political. He’s a quiet guy who has always kept to himself. Others with political motives created drama.

I didn't get to see Pistol play for LSU, but damn CJ was a sight to see.

You don't even need to look at highlight videos, just games.

CJ is like my Barry Sanders. When you see it, you've seen it.

100%. I drove to Orlando in anticipation of LSU winning the SEC tourney. On my drive down, Vandy knocked em out. It was shocking. Proposed to my wife of 31 years in Cedar Key, so I salvaged the trip. :)

Struggled? He averaged 14.6 points a game for his career.

Shaq said they beat themselves they didn't play as a team but as individuals playing against each other. That's on coaching, sorry

I am sure the Tourette's Syndrome did not help.

His career wasn't lackluster. He averaged 16ppg over an 11 year career in the most physical era of the game. His tourette's was tough on him.

in 1994 Chris was about to break Calvin Murphy's record for all time leading free throw percentage leader; Chris makes the first free throw then Murphy who is sitting in the stands on the front row, gets the ball from the ref, rubs gris gris on the ball and he misses the free throw

Friend of mine worked in the Ole Miss athletic dept during Jackson's recruitment and told me a funny story about it so I'll try to make this short.

Jackson is about to decide between Ole Miss and LSU and the Ole Miss Head Coach and an assistant go visit him in Gulfport one last time. They pull up and a brand new car is in the driveway. The HC tells the asst. coach, "when we're done here, I'm calling the NCAA about Dale Brown. I'm sick of this crap". Go into the house, brand new appliances. HC tells the asst. the same thing. Go into the living room, brand new furniture. HC tells the asst. the same thing.

Jackson tells them that night he's going to LSU so they leave and the HC tells the asst. to find a pay phone so he can call the NCAA and turn Dale Brown in. To that the asst. says, "well remember those new appliances? Those were from us."

Jackson used to live in our neighborhood in Pass Christian with his wife and kids for a few years and he was super quiet. Basically no interaction.

Yeah I remember watching Shaq refuse to pass the ball when Chris was open.
Playing for self and not for the team.

Shaq was a raw player back then for LSU, mostly power. Stanley always was the more skilled of the 2 even though Shaq would go on to have the more dominant NBA career. Stanley had a great turnaround jumper and low post game, but was lazy and basically ate himself out the league. But there is only 1 Mahmoud Abdul Rauf, dude was Steph Curry before Curry. A much more athletic Curry because Curry couldn't do some of the things he could do. Smh Mahmoud could jump out a gym at just 5'11 and LSU had a special alley oop play designed just for him where he would go down low and they would throw it up and he would go get it and dunk it through, dude was incredible. I see a lot of people still refer to him as Chris, but please respect the man and call him by his name he's used for years now.
