Been there twice. We lost twice. There is no on campus tailgating so people hang out around the bars and houses around campus. Its alright i guess but i dont want to go back. Too many bad memories.

Did you have piss balloons thrown at you? Did they break your car flag off? Did they curse at your 8 year old? Because I have seen all that with some of our so-called fans. There are crappy fans everywhere. Go to an LSU game with the other team's colors and you will find out.

Only been once. Took my wife and we had to drive back to orlando afterwards so we didnt drink much. But basically just went in a few bars and had a beer ot two at a few tailgates. We won the game on a 50ish yard fg as time ran out basically. 2014 I think. They were pissed after the game. We kind of hauled arse as it just didnt seem like it would be much fun and we had a drive.

I have only been there once in 2017 (the week after Tom Petty died). I had a great time. 4 of us went and were decked in purple and gold. The fans around us were very friendly. The Tom Petty tribute where the whole stadium sang “I Won’t Back Down” was really cool. I have nothing but good things to say about Gainesville.

I’d rank Gainesville as one of the worst college towns/cities in the SEC. The fans are rude, the cops are Nazis to visitors, and the city is a crap hole overall.

The game itself was miserably hot, but the atmosphere was intense as hell. Easily the most hostile away game environment I’ve ever been to.
But yeah, fans were dicks, cops were pricks, no tailgating, traffic sucked, etc.

1982. Sat in the student section with a GF who went there. She kept telling me to shut up or I'd get "Passed Up". Their version of crowd surfing except not by choice and punched the whole way up. LSU 24-13 over #4 UF.

Sure, been there 6 times for LSU games, only one did I find the worst of their fans any more obnoxious than the worst of ours. Other 5 great experiences. LSU is 4-2 in the games that I've gone to. Strip around the stadium has lots of bars and restaurants. I had a good time at the ones I went to...the Swamp, Grog House are the only two I really remember the name of.
Tailgating is very good there - don't listen to the Rantards on this board. And the campus is pretty.
Yes, there are bars across the street that we also go to - don't recall the names though.
Now yes, Gainesville itself may not be a great town, but Gator fans (yes, there are some tacky ones wearing jorts) are generally fine, as long as you're not an arse.
I don't understand why it's so hard for LSU fans to acknowledge that other fanbases love their teams too, and love college football in general. Just be cool, and you'll be treated just fine. Which applies to just about every part of life.

And what in the hell do you mean "no tailgating." There's legit tailgating everywhere on the UF campus.
