If Scott, McMillian and Humphries or even Claussen are the best examples y’all can come up with I would say that the answer to the question is no.

Rick Claussen embarrassed us.

Les Miles embarrassed us. All Rick did was throw to 10 yard curl routes against 15 yard cushions. “Sit on a lead” Les was brain dead.

Stan Humphries left LSU to go to NLU and ended up with a nice pro career. I think he may have actually started in a Super Bowl for the Chargers.

Rick Clausen left LSU only to return to TS w/Tennessee and led them in a comeback win over the Tigers in '05,

I always like these stat lines of a player that "left":

Ryan Perrilloux went on to Jacksonville State where he did well and was the conference's Offensive Player of the Year. He then had a 6 year professional career, including backing up Eli Manning. So he has a BCS National Champions ring and Super Bowl World Champions ring.

You’re making this up. Sol was a 5th year Sr when he started a few games in 1990. He went to med school after the season ended.

Humphries started in the Super Bowl for San Diego in 1994 but he was drafted by the Redskins and won a ring as Rypien's backup in 1991. He was absolutely awesome in 1987 for NLU when they won the national championship.

I've had the same thought.

What is your criteria for success?

Terry Bradshaw was a Tiger for a few days, couldn't pass admissions. Left and had more NFL success than any other Tiger QB.

LSU doesn't develop QBs. We've had a lot success with QBs who've developed elsewhere transferring in.

I don't know, he was an undergraduate for the "normal" period. Spent two yrs ad Grad student. Covid & Med Redshirt extended his eligibility.

Its normally been a weakness.
Back in the day, Bear Bryant and Johnny Vaught always had better QBs.
Pissed when McClendon let Joe Ferguson leave the state.
Of course, Joe made the correct choice. McClendon would have sat him on the bench and or never let him throw the ball.
Things improved QB wise when Mac retired. IMO
