Hard to tell from that angle. I would assume they were running a cover 3 or cover 4 there since they had 8 in coverage

Jennings was under a lot more pressure, during the game. I'm not saying Harris couldn't have performed better, but we just don't know. Going forward, it's up to the coaches, to have a true Qb competition, even if that means LSU scores 70+ points this weekend. frick lining up, and running the ball 52 times, they need to find out what they have at Qb, if not, LSU is in for a long season.

Going into a Prevent Defense prevents you from winning.

IMO we need to give Harris 20-25 passes this next game to see how he does against pressure. Of course it's not Auburn, but is possibly ULM level.

I just really believe our best chance to salvage the season is stick Harris in the shotgun at least 50% of games and have 3-4 WRs with Fournette as a 5th option.

Most objective people watching the MSU game (also factoring in his performance in the bowl game and the Wisconsin game) will say Harris needs to play more....period. Jennings is not getting it done. Maybe he doesn' start, but he needs to be playing at least as much as Jennings. Of course, the Oline is not helping things, but Jennings can't complete passes with consistency and it's killing us. Those throws Harris made were not an anomaly. He is a better passer. Isn't it obvious that defenses don't respect our passing game because they know Jennings will throw it in the dirt or behind receivers at least 3-4 times a game even if they are wide open. He locks in on his primary receiver. He doesn't make decisions fast enough.

His supposed strengths (running, read option, and long ball) are not much better than what Harris does. In addition, Harris is a much better passer. If Harris can't remember all the plays, then work on "enough" plays for an effective game plan with him in the game. I'd bet harris can hit Fournette on that screen pass, which should be run at least 3 times a game.

P.S. - Enough Magee. He should be 4th on the depth chart right now.

Prevent or no prevent. That throw right there is threading the fvcking needle between two starting DB's.

How much football have you actually watched? It is very easy to move the football down field agains a prevent defense. there is no pash rush so the QB has time. The middle of the field is wide open so big gains are easy to come by.

Prevent defenses are there to prevent the other team from scoring....i.e., keep the plays underneath. They actually, in their nature, allow for completions by playing everyone deep so as to disallow a receiver from scoring. Prevent defenses are fail-safe mechanisms. They are not intended to disrupt the line-of-scrimmage or the QB, or even the WR routes, for the most part.
