Indeed: Happy Birthday! I sat next to Bert in a marketing class. Hard to believe he is that old.
Wait, I'm about to turn 74.

Will never forget his last-second pass to Brad Davis to beat Ole Miss!

Played in that tournament one year at the Alexandria Golf & Country Club. Bert would drive around in a golf cart with a photographer and take pictures with the foursomes.
We’re on a par five with our best drive sitting in a patch of dirt. The foursome is assessing our lie when Bert drives up and hears us say ‘we could make it on the green in 2 if we could tee it up.’ Bert throws a tee in the ground near the ball and says ‘tee it up boys.’
Happy birthday to the Ruston Rifle

His father, Dub Jones, may have been the best player in the family. He went to LSU for his first collegiate year, but was transferred to Tulane by the US Navy where he finished. In 1951 he scored 6 touchdowns in one game for the Cleveland Browns. The dude was still trying to work in his late 90’s. Tough dude.

and his first cousin was the great WR Andy Hamilton. Lots of talent in that family. Great Tigers all!
