104.5 right now - Hanny noted LSU fans saw the worst defense in the history of LSU. Ga struggled against an Aub team that has an offense as dysfunctional as LSU’s defense.

There is not a single thing that LSU defense does good. Hanny “soundly” disagreed with Kelly that it’s about the lack of talent in the secondary. Getting a couple more talented cornerbacks will not solve this for Kelly.

The problem is deeper than that. It’s coaching and many players not performing the way they are capable of. Lane Kiffin ran plays side to side at a fast pace on offense to tire the defense and expose LSU’s poor tackling.

With the success Ole Miss had on offense both Hanny and Ott wondered if Kiffin will continue working his offense at this pace moving forward.

Updated - Hanny just noted that what Kelly said in his press conference about young inexperienced players is “not real, is not accurate” stated “LSU is not young!” Hanny noted that these players have played on average 21 games or more. They’re just not talented.

Kelly said we don't have talent in the secondary?

He said the secondary was a red flag at SEC media days due to all the transfers.

Well he had that moment in his press conference where he let everyone know "nobody else is walking through that door" and "these are the guys we have to play with." Which sounds like someone who is implying that we don't have the talent.

Works when you play against a team that can’t tackle or get stops. It’s a recipe for disaster if you go 3 and out.

I totally agree. You can be less talented, and still know your assignments, and be competitive. Our guys are absolutely clueless. Guys are hesitating, because they are not sure about what to do. Opposing wide receivers are being left wide open. Our front seven is being gashed and running backs are breaking long runs, because guys are out of position. That's coaching.

It's not "five star" players that are gashing us. It's Ole Miss and Arkansas, so "lack of talent" is an awful excuse.

I can’t believe how bad Maason Smith looked. I never thought he was going to be another Anthony Johnson. He looks worse honestly.

It matters to LSU if Kiffin’s offense can succeed with their remaining schedule which includes Ga. And Ga struggled vs Aub.

Hanna’s been wrong before, but he’s been right far more than any one person I can think of on LSU.

I’m not sure Kelly was deliberately throwing players under the bus when he said no one else is walking through the door, I think he was responding to all the “why isn’t so and so playing etc” that’s been prevalent on all the LSU shows online and on local radio. Clearly he’s frustrated and probably didn’t expect things to go south as sharply as it has. Its not just talent anyway, otherwise teams like Duke and Wake Forest would be getting similar results every Saturday. I think mentally our players are locked up, in a fog, trying to figure out their responsibilities. Probably so worried about screwing up they wind up screwing up

Based on all the statistics and metrics Hanny just noted that LSU defense among the bottom 10, and LSU’soffense is among the top 5 or 10.

This defense being as bad as it is, is on coaching. I understand that it’s not an extremely talented group or anything, but Lane just flat out outcoached us.

House had absolutely no sustainable answer for anything.

Look, whenever the D looks atrocious in every aspect at a place like LSU, the D coordinator plays a part in that. Think back to Tepper and Pelini's second time at LSU and how the D improved when they were replaced.

We are clearly not as talented as usual in the defensive backfield, but we do have some guys who are supposed to be studs on D (Perkins and Wingo obviously were studs last year). Now that House has had more time to coach them, the production is down. Could be a coincidence, but I think House is struggling like our defensive players.
