Why would they select an unranked team who will be clobbered instead of a likely top 10 vs top 25 matchup?

UGA Auburn will be a slaughter. This should be the 2:30 game. If not make it the night ESPN game. 11 am is disgusting

Ok even if CBS selects Aub vs Georgia for their 2:30 game, why cant ESPN make this a night game on one of their thousands of channels?

Didn't know that. Maybe that's why they scooped up MLB playoffs that day. This is a new baseball format so TV rights probably weren't a done deal when CBS announced the day/night doubleheader day back in late May.

TV rights. Don't worry, we will only have to deal with this for a few more years and then ESPN will have all the SEC programming rights I believe.

Auburn is quite literally a bottom 3 team in the SEC vs #1 Georgia. How on earth did LSU Tennessee become an 11 am game?! That’s how you kill any excitement for a game. Nobody wants to go to a game that early on Saturday in that heat. Tennessee fans will be happy I guess

Is that serious question for a game almost two weeks out?

Forecasted high of 88. 90 is probably the worst-case scenario. Hot but could be worse if it happened earlier in the month.

Someone explain this scenario if this is true… so who gets SECN night game?

SC @ UK
Ark @ Miss St
Mizzou @ UF

How do they chose 1 of those over LSU?

It is usually in the shade about 4:00 PM.

LSU should do everything in its power to never play an 11:00 AM game. Besides the obvious heat, early starts are not good for our tailgating environment.

Anyone know Richard G West? He's saying SEC announced and LSU-Tennessee will be 8PM.

One of those will be the SEC Network night game.

CBS has a doubleheader at 2:30 & 7:00. ESPN gets 3rd pick at 11:00 AM that day.

ESPN is not allowed to broadcast an SEC home game during that CBS doubleheader window. That's why ESPN won't have an SEC game that afternoon or night. Only SEC Network can have a game during the CBS window.
