Hannibal Needs to Be the Starting PG

Moving forward. He proved tonight he could handle the heavy hitting SEC game. Hill and Williams are just too slight of build for SEC play. Neither one could handle the physical play tonight. Hats off to Coach for sticking with Hannibal down the stretch.

The best aspect of McMahon so far has been the ability to identify the hot hand on a given night and then run everything through that guy.

Hayes and Hannibal are both effective point guards. Hill shouldn’t even see the floor.

I loved Will Wade
I might love McMahon more. Goddamn that was impressive.

Hannibal needs to do a better job with his free throws. This seems to be an issue with this team in general. Will Wades teams were always good free throw shooting teams.

Nah, keep using the hot hand

Maybe McMahon likes him coming off the bench like Wade liked Tari Eason coming off the bench.
His energy off the bench when the offense is struggling obviously sparked the team tonight. That’s still a solid role.

I agree with starting Hannibal , but I think we need to remember that hill was a great player under the same coach at Murray state.
He will get going.
Don’t even say it was level of competition at Murray state that made him a good player there.
The dudes been bad even in non conference and y’all know good and well that he played against better teams than we played in non conference in most of his games at Murray, or at least equal competition

His numbers are down across the board vs. last season, and he was particularly ineffective tonight.
ETA: Hannibal could also end up being a Couisnard from last season when he dropped 33 on LSU. Ended up avg. 10 for the season.

Seems like we'd benefit from anyone who could become a threat with a mid-range game. The shot chart shows only two attempts outside the paint that are not three point attempts.

He’s not a point guard through. He took over the game attacking off the dribble, but realistically I don’t think he’s great breaking the press or distributing. He does seem to be damn good at taking it strong to the goal. I agree with other posters that McMahon did a great job of playing the hot hand.
