I'd agree here, if that's the case.

You have to pay to win.
You have to overpay sometimes.

but if Texas hadn't fired Strong Herman would be our coach...and all the crybabies here would be saying how great JA is? or would they cry over something else?
If ifs and buts were candy and nuts. You are right, if Texas wouold have kept Strong, we would have Herman. But they didnt and Alleva had no backup plan outside of Orgeron.

If Herman or jimbo wanted to be at LSU, they would be at LSU.
Don't you believe that it's the AD's job to make them WANT to come here. To sell it? He failed at that. That's all I'm saying. If those 2 people were never coming here, then we shouldn't be hearing their names mentioned on the short list all season long.

Not if you're stuck with a monstrous buyout.

Dude, Strong has been a dead man walking for as long as Miles has been unemployed. Texas just elected not to to pull the plug mid-season.

He's right. All we can do is hope for the best now.
Insert "Hanny is a nega-O" or whatever other nonsense euphemism the board has concocted for people who have the gall to exercise independent reason.

Up to a point. If LSU wanted, they could have paid Jimbo 15 million a year.
Obviously, that would have been ridiculous and they were supposedly going to make him the 3rd or 4th highest paid coach out there.

Why is O's buyout so low?
Well he is completely unqualified for the job so I am sure whatever shitty contract you threw his way he would take it.
This very little buyout so you can get rid of him is very telling about this hire.
And when we buy him out because we want to replace him, you trust that the next search is going to be thorough and much better than this one?

Yeah I'm a bit surprised at how many are believing this herman-texas agreement happened in a few hours.

Alleva is lazy, unprepared and always makes LSU look bad in routine situations. He is killing our brand.

if this is so obvious, it makes our 'search' even worse.

Alleva has to be gone by the next 2 or 3 years, right?

What? So you believe he and his agent had 0 negotiations with Texas before the day of the deal?

I almost added that in there. JA is still our AD for the next search.

I have a source from the Herman camp that said Herman was ready to agree to a deal last week but Alleva was too busy dealing with Jimbo. Once that fell through they turned to Herman. Once Texas started talking to Herman LSU did nothing to change their offer. Alleva is said to have called Armstrong and threw a fit. Herman was disappointed in the way LSU handled things (Alleva) and decided early Saturday morning to accept the TX job. All indications Alleva fricked this up from the get go.
