This. Alleva would never make it in the real world of business. You have to check your feelings at the door and not get but hurt when the other guy does what's in his best interest. You can't just take your ball and go home when things get tough. Obviously Herman was their guy. Then get on the damn plane Friday after his game and don't leave until He's on the plane.He signed for 5 mil at Texas you think we can't pay that? Alleva really wanted O to do well so he could take the easy way out. I hope O does well but this could be 1986 all over again.

Well. Using your logic, hiring me to be LSUs head coach would be defensible because you can't PROVE I wouldn't do as well.

The idiots really come out on this board. They ought to change LSU's nickname to the LSU Bitchers because that is what you all like to do. 1) Fisher won in a week ACC and because of Jamieous Winston 2) Tom Herman lost to Navy and SMU 3) Fedora was Les Miles #2 and yiu all would have had a meltdown over that had they hired him 4) PJ Fkeck is too young and would be eaten alive in the SEC according to some geniuses. 5) some wanted Gindy or Justin Fuentes, but others didn't and Fuentes would have a huge buyout that LSU would have had to pay and many of you all would have had a fit over that. Now Coach 'O' is a disaster. Don't complain about your wives giving you crap. Some you al, have more estrogen in you than them.

I am just pointing the absurdity of it all. There was no coaching here ire that would have mad the fan bas happy, based on the posts other than Urnan Meyer or Nick Saban or Jim Hatprbaugh and I don't think they would be leaving their respective schools.

It's not the coaching hire!! It is the fact that no serious search was done. If due diligence is done, several candidates are interviewed and then Orgeron is the best choice, so be it. But that wasn't done!
To believe that the lone interview Friday night sealed the deal and allowed Alleva to tell Herman, "no thank you", is absurd. If that is all that took place then no serious coaching search was done.
The timing of this doesn't make sense either. Why did we have to announce Coach O right now? Other candidates are becoming available as the season ends. Why now? LSU had the biggest head start on every other team as far as who they wanted as a coach but it appears Alleva wanted Coach O all along and this is how it played out.
Some of us are upset at the process, not the hire.

I believe they talked to more than just the 'Big 2' and Ed O. But that doesn't matter either.
To your point, if they indeed did talk to more than that then the [valid] issue you have could have been easily resolved with just a little bit of PR and communication. So I can't blame you for feeling this way. It's either true or it could have been avoided easily.
The only difference between you and I is that I don't think it was that bad while you do think it was.
