The thing about the Pacific Northwest is everything is far from it. Unless she goes to one of the Washington Pac-12 schools or Gonzaga everything else is far away. Even Eugene, Oregon is like a 7 hr drive. Colorado or the Cali schools aren't driving distance or even that short of a flight. Seattle to New Orleans flight is only about an hour and a half longer than Los Angeles.

I agree we won’t land anyone good from the portal. We are stuck with what we have next year

Yeah they act like we have a hall of fame coach who has won 4 championships. How stupid of me.

Agreed. No reason to have faith in Mulkey. She’s a flash in the pan

Exactly. I'm sure most of the players entering the portal have plenty of jewelry and don't want the hassle of carrying around a Championship ring or 2.

Exactly. She couldn’t accomplish anything more than recruit the number one class out of high school, and get the top transfer player last season in Angel Reese.

Absolutely no reason to think Mulkey will be successful in the 2023 transfer portal based on evidence. How stupid of us to be even a little excited.

She’s basically Nikki Fargas with a little more support…

Not surprising at all. It was always a long shot. The articles trying to hype it up were very scarce on details.

That's true. The distance from Seattle to Los Angeles is roughly the same as Baton Rouge to Philadelphia for context.

She's 3rd all time in championships. And geno is still coaching, but players have soured on him over the last decade because of how awful he treats his players.

If you think louisiana has noticed what mulkey did in years 2... I guarantee the women college players have. They all can see the momentum building into a championship freight train.
You'll continue to see top talent on non-championship contenders continue to transfer to lsu.

Part of it is mulkey. But part of it is the fans. That combo got poole and Reese. And it will attract more.

Van Lith posts cute pictures of herself online, so you can rule out Stanford.

A little off the subject of HVL, but you could see Coach Mulkey’s instincts at the WNBA draft. That purple suit she wore represented LSU, was classy (and obviously expensive), and for her, very understated.

She realized the spotlight belonged to LaDaziah and Alexis and the other girls getting drafted, so she toned down the level of gaudy that she wears court side.
