I would think if Frey comes back he could lock down first. He has a past at catcher, right? I would think former catchers could learn to dig balls at first easier than others and that could boost his draft stock

I would think 1B would be his position should he come back

He’d go number one overall if he stayed and showed he can control it

Added pitchers were sure to see contribute next year and moved Frey to 1st. He likely comes back to show he can be a position player before going pro

On top of bringing in the #1 class and being selective in the portal like Jay says with the new roster limits we’ll be in good shape. Definitely a top 5 team again to start the year and be in position to make a run at #9 and first B2B since 96-97. Nice to have the dynasty back again

Larson would start at 1st before Frey. EF is way more athletic, but he won’t be back.

we’ll see if Larson sticks around. He wants to be a 56 game starter Im sure. Would be a Paxton Kling situation imo

Either way, with Larson and Frey if neither of them are back next year we’ll be a top 5 team regardless and have a run at #9 and first B2B title since 96-97

Frey has very little chance to come back. I can def see Stanfield coming back again next year however

Posted two days ago by an MLB writer about Frey.

“But make no mistake: He's only a DH out of necessity, the product of a stacked outfield depth chart. Frey looks like a star off the bus, standing 6-foot-6 and 225 pounds, and he moves well enough to project as an outfielder at the pro level. If he keeps hitting like this, some team will be enticed enough by the tools to take a shot on him, and they could be getting a better player than expected. A big CWS final would go a long way toward proving that this half-season is legit.”

Larson seems like he has a wide open spot in the OF if he comes back.

I hope Larson stays and gets an opportunity to contribute next year. He has all the tools to be a great player.

Would you come back if you were him? If Stanfield, Curiel, and Brown come back, Larson is going to be a backup, or DH. He might even be behind Frey in the outfield rotation - assuming Frey comes back and is not playing 1B.

It’s more likely next year is a regional team unless Jay can get 20-30 HR and a starter from the portal. Asking every questionable piece to progress, if he doesn’t. Let’s enjoy this right now.

DH - Frey

I think Frey is going to be a top 5 round pick. The last time I saw MKB prospects listed he was a top 200 player
