BATON ROUGE, La. – Baton Rouge might not be one of the first places reporters run to for reaction to the news of Texas A&M hiring Jimbo Fisher. They should, though, because the meltdown will be epic.

No - as long as LSU has Aranda, the head coach position is not as critical. Now Herman and Aranda would have been interesting to watch for a couple of years.

Would have been incredible

I can’t stand Alleva and it goes back to Duke days.

Nothing has changed. No one has faith in Alleva. Though I did like the Wade hire.

See what happens to LSU if Aranda suddenly jumps for another opportunity this offseason. Until we get an offense that is better than NCAA average, Defense is what wins games for LSU.

I have been critical of fans obsessing about coaches salaries, because it's not your money so you shouldn't care.

However, committing to 10 years of ANY coach, especially one who exhibits the signs of burn out like Jimbo does, is ridiculous. The $7.5 mil makes it even sillier.

I have posted many times that Jimbo was my dream coach for the last 10-plus years. However, glad we don't have him. It's a hard pass for me.

There are a dozen coaches I would take over him. (they may not all be attainable)

I hate Alleva but I would have laughed at what Jimbo was asking for too.

So where did Master Matt hear this from and can confirm it?

Bookmarked this thread for when A&M is paying his buyout in 5 years and the AD is portrayed as a bad negotiator for signing him to a long term contract.

Not a fan of Alleva by any stretch, but I don't fault him for not giving Fischer that type of mega deal.

This is such bullshite. Jimbo was sitting pretty at FSU last year. This year the team has quit and they are in full meltdown mode. He's getting the hell out while he can and he had a couple of jobs to choose from. This year's situation is entirely different than last year.

Ah the perceptions and just total dramatization of our media is awesome. When LSU kick his arse in college station what will the narrative be?
