you spend far too much time on this board if you actually know that. Like far too much. Thats actually sad. And yea I can imagine having a degree and working in construction sales somehow being a bad thing lmfao. Hating on poeple who make bank is a weird thing.

Don’t you sometimes needs to issue a suit to get the insurance to eventually pay up if they think others were at fault

Complete bullshite. bullshite for releasing this the Friday before the Ole Miss game. bullshite for naming coaches and the university that provided you the care to find the tumor and have the surgery in the first place. This is the kind of bullshite law suit that a jury will side with the plantiff not on what's right or wrong but on 'feelings'. Screw 'em at this point. This crap pisses me off.

If true, what a POS!!!!!!!

You idiot moronic non reading asses cant read the fact that he is saying his seizures caused damage, which happened prior to the surgery and that LSU didnt get him the proper testing during that time. You guys are just plain dumb. Talking about my degree lmfao

Reads like some boosters found out that it is cheaper to pay Greg Brooks than it will be to pay the rest of the coach's contract. Looks like setting up for release for cause.

That means the medical review panel is done.
Not necessarily. Does anyone have a link to the lawsuit?

People wonder why medical care is so expensive in the US. This is partly why. We live in a petty, litigation happy society that always feels someone must be held responsible for anything bad that happens to them.
I feel awful for Greg, having brain cancer at his age (or any age tbh) is just not fair and a terrible hand to be dealt. Doesn't mean someone wronged you, though.

he suffered "multiple strokes" after the surgery
He experienced dizziness/nausea in practice. Gave him headache medicine. Later on the same symptoms came up. Concussion rules out. The concussion testing app they mention is just a short term memory game, which is goofy and would only prove a serious concussion if it occurred. He never saw a neurologist until after he collapsed in the middle of practice. I don't recall anything mentioning what led up to the collapse.
That being said, LSU did everything they could within their means and skills to try and diagnose what the problem is. The only time you'll ever see "bad headache = brain tumor" is if you go on WebMD.

I'm assuming it has more to do with them diagnosing with him something less severe, without even referring him to an actual neurologist.
It really boils down to what symptoms he complained of. There isn't a doctor in the world who would realistically conclude that a healthy, athletic contact athlete in a sport known for brain trauma has brain cancer bc he's complaining of headaches. Now, blurry vision, seizures, memory loss, gait issues, etc etc those complaints can't just be ignored and require further workup.

Dont see how athletic trainers or coaches are liable for not diagnosing brain tumors. The time line looks to be pro active not neglect.

I seriously doubt there was any mal-intent as described in the article. Just all so
required to justified a lawsuit - I predict an amicable settlement.

It's a really sad situation, but I honestly hate lawsuits like this. Regardless of what the team did, nothing they did would have been a proximate cause of his injuries caused by brain surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. Furthermore, when you're having a life-saving surgery like this performed, his inevitable state was always going to be a very possible outcome which was I would bet told to him before the surgery happened. Him surviving at all was never even a guarantee. I absolutely empathize with he and his family, but in reality he was dealt a shite hand, and it would have taken a miracle for him to have come out on the other side 100%
This is 100% perfectly stated
There is a 0% chance the informed consent he signed didn't detail each one of these complications as real risks going into the surgery.

If this happened because of LSU trainer/medical staff negligence, then that dude deserves everything he needs.

Late to the game here
I just read the whole article and I just have to say I don’t think the lawsuit has much merit on the LSU side.
Telling a kid if he can’t practice, he won’t be the starter is pretty damn common in sports.
Expecting LSU’s sports training staff to identify the side effects of a tumor that was determined to be rare in adults….
I hate to say this for Greg because I feel for him, but this is just a huge money grab to try and pay for his medical care going forward

You think a few weeks delay in diagnosis was a factor in a brain tumor that had likely been growing for years
Bingo. He would have had surgery regardless, whether it was cancerous or non cancerous if he was having symptoms. Sometimes surgeons and oncologist have to wait for a tumor to grow large enough to treat it.
