The obvious ones- CB Derek Stingley (TM14 was good but not as good as Stingley)
RB- Kevin Faulk
Up for Debate
WR- Kayshon Boutte(?) Maybe someone like Odell would compete here too
QB?
DL?
TE?
LB?
S?

Fournette was the best true freshman RB in my time but Kevin Faulk is just slightly before I started following

WR - I would say OBJ. But it’s tough to compare since it was a drastically different offense.
QB - Hodson
DL - Booger
TE - Has LSU ever had a freshman starter at TE before Gilbert? I really don’t know.
LB - This is a tough one. If you’re counting 3-4 rush OLB’s, guys like Key and Chaisson come to mind. But it’s much more difficult to play a true LB position as a freshman.
S - LaRon Landry, hands down

Dalton or K Faulk. They both had tremendous TF years. Much more impressive than Fournette’s TF year.

May want look at Jamal Adams freshman year before you say laron hands down. Adams came in and dominated his first year.
Not sure if they are the greatest, but I remember being very impressed with Micheal Clayton, Marcus Spears, and for sure Ben Wilkerson at the center position.
Forgot to mention Trev Faulk. Freshman All American.

I think JV was a redshirt in 03.

WR- Jerel Myers. Freshman All American. Set a then SEC record for a freshman with 64 catches. Ranked 5th in the SEC and 27th nationally in receptions. Also averaged 18 yards per punt return.

Ever hear of Tommy Hodson?

Lol the entire reason you made this is because Boutte. He isn't the best freshman wr ever at LSU off of 1 game man.

No, he originally signed with 2002 class, but didn't qualify IIRC
