Is this a joke? He could dunk.....so what? I could dunk in highschool and im shorter than he is. Forget college, Highschools across america are repleat with kids 6'1 that can dunk.
Now if he was jumping like Mugsy Bogues at that hight then I would have been impressed.

Don't forget Floyd Bailey. 6'5" and played center.

pretty sure you are thinking of Maurice Williamson, he could sky

bizarre list. top 3 have to be DeWayne "the Astronaut" Scales, Leonard "Swat" Mitchell, and Tyrus Thomas. Hon. mention to Rudy Macklin and Al Green.

+1
I forget what game I was watching on video years ago but I remember freezing a play where Williams blocked a shot while chasing a player down after a turnover. He pinned the ball to the glass & it was about 6 inches or so above the square. I remember thinking how imperssive that was for his size.

quote:Scales had the nickname, but i think Leonard Mitchell had a better vertical. Seem to recall he could grab a quarter off the top of the backboard.

Scales could grab a quarter off the top of the backboard but Swat Mitchell would grab it and make change by putting two dimes and a nickel back.

What about that African guy that played a few years back? I can't remember his name, but he could FLY!

Tyrus and Vernel should be on there, definitely ahead of Chris Jackson. He had good ups for a guy his size, but not on a scale comparable to Tyrus or Vernel, or Scales.
I don't know about that. Those other guys were significantly taller with much longer arms. I think CJ's vertical was probably up there with the best of them, even if his dunks weren't as awesome.

hey Rudy, what about the guy in your pic? Rudy Macklin had some pretty mad ups!! i remember him doin a left handed tomahawk over some sap (i forget who)...but he almost leaped over the guy. RM was the man!

even if his dunks weren't as awesome.
For the record Tyrus had some made hang time though and quiiiiick as hell off his feet.
