This really should be stickied. The man is no longer coach so there is no need for anyone to focus on the negative anymore.
Its a shame that the Miles/man didn't always transcend to the Miles/coach.

I was an adamant miles supporter and defender for many years. Years 2012-2015 I started to waiver. I was hoping he was gone and getting his farewell ride off the field against A&M. It didn't happen and I was shocked. Then, the recruiting class, the defensive hire, the returning juniors, I was glad he was given this opportunity to come back. But during the first game when I saw/felt nothin was changing, I started to become mad at him. Lol. Like he cares. The one time miles pumper was officially a negatiger.
With all that said, it's a sad day for me to see him go in this way, but it was time last year. Will always cherish the memories from 2005-2011.
Ride off Coach, and do what you do, and thanks for the freaking insane journey.

While I also believe the time had come for him to look to other challenges, and for the program to look around for other leadership, that does not diminish the FACT that Les was a good man, and a great steward of the program during his time here.
Well said, and exactly right. Now we need to find the RIGHT replacement who can do the aforementioned and coach/play competitive, winning FB every week.

Awesome post. Would love to see Miles stay on board as a recruiter and some type of mentor for the players. Those are his best attributes. It is clearly shown through the minds and the hearts of the players.

He's loved by all. But that doesn't mean it wasn't time for a change. Sometimes things get stagnant, it doesn't mean anyone's a bad guy.
People like redtigerz hide behind the keyboard and spew vitriol about the man. No, he was actually hated by a portion of this fan base.

You know what I loved all my teachers in school that let me do what I wanted and never got on my arse for anything no matter how bad it was.

He said it best, "you always know what you're going to get"... that's why he was fired. Everybody else knew too

Thanks for sharing man!
Just a couple of thoughts, what a impactful relationship Coach Miles had with his players. I realize it was time for a change, this point is very obvious. But Les made a difference in this and many other young men's lives. And for that, and the crazy good memories of LSU football under Miles, I am thankful.
But I also want to join those who have mentioned the down votes of the OP. To you who have down voted, go join another fan base. You have a miserable existence. Maybe Bama, Florida, or aTm would welcome you but we don't need you, nor do we want you. We love our Tigers, we bleed P&G, and we love what LSU means to our state and the city of BR. And if you aren't a LSU fan, get the hell off our board! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!

This post goes so much deeper than what happens on the field and under the bright lights on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.
It speaks volumes about the man who has lead our program for 12 years. His impact on the community and the young men he coached transcends his impressive coaching record.
The heartfelt comments by John David Moore on what it has meant to play for Coach Miles and to put on that Tiger uniform, first as a walkon and then as a scholarship player should be read and absorbed by every player.
Early vote for John David Moore to wear the cherished # 18 next season.

Yeah, I was like that too. Then I grew up and started wanting teachers that would push me. Those are the teachers I remember. Not assholes, mentors. Kinda like what I think Les is.
